I heard about this awhile ago but didn't realize we were eliminated. Summit Raceway Park has bumped the Monster Mopar race and show in July and replaced it with a National Truck and Tractor pull event. Yes, they are going to cover the track with dirt! Maybe they'll plant real Christmas trees.

They kept the Ford and Pontiac events though. Hmmm.
We get the Rodney Dangerfield treatment again. Jeff Johnson must have been asleep at the line.

Well that just sucks, especially with NTR dropping the spring Chrysler event ( Chrysler Classic/ Chrysler Power).

I wonder, since the new owners of Nat'l. Trail
announced that they wouldn't lease the facility
to anyone but the Nats , I assume because they're under a contract, that Summit isn't making room on their calendar for the Nats for
sometime down the road.

there is more to the event getting replaced than just wanting to use that weekend for something else.
I will leave it at that. And Jeff Johnson wasnt the promoter of the Norwalk Mopar deal in recent years, another guy was.
The summer after next Norwalk itself is going to put on a Mopar show back on the calendar

July 23/24 dragway 42 is showing something for a mopar show don't know if mid ohio mopars got anything to do with it

It was my understanding that West Salem decided last year, to have their own show without any involvement from Midwest Mopars.

any Mopar show competing with the Norwalk Monster Mopar deal wouldnt work on the same exact dates, obviously. Its on the 42 schedule because it isnt happening this year at Norwalk.
The Norwalk show is the biggest drag racing event in the country, and has been going on forever.
I am glad the track owners are keeping it on the schedule after the one year hiatus this year.
42 is being opportunistic, good for them.

a side note on josh king. last known owner of monster mopar. supposedly got into trash talking with baders and they pulled the plug on mm. he has burnt the bridges at wwt raceway(old gateway) and at irp (indy). no where else to go. heard this at 2 different swap meets. wwt does have a mopar show on schedule. all payouts in cash, no checks, supposedly.

the Baders are gonna start a Mopar event next year( not this upcoming season). That should be good. Love Norwalk facilities.
