Mopar/Dodge 273 complete engine with carter 4bbl carb and exhaust manifolds.
I purchased this engine to rebuild and put into my 1966 Dodge Dart Convertible since it was the correct motor for that year...but I ended up selling the Dodge Dart as is so now I have a 273 engine in my garage waiting for a new car. It's either sell the engine or get another car....Right now...I need the space so engine will go.
Block # 2465330-3 (64-66 LA) with SP casting under the block casting
Heads # 2465313-2 (64-65)
Intake # 2536563 (66-67)
And a stamped number on left front of block 42303
I was hoping to find a letter code to tell me the actual year of the block but do not know where to look other than the left front of block below the head where I found the 42303 stamped number.
Haven't pulled a spark plug to see if it has commando pistons but when I do will post photo if I can take one
My thought since the engine was painted blue is that somewhere in it's life it was repainted the blue to make it look like a 318. My gut tells me it's a 1965 engine because of the heads (64-65) and someone then installed a 4bbl intake (66-67) on it after having a machine shop make it work.
