Saw these on FB. Don't know much about them, but was thinking about new heads for my 68 street 340.

Needs being just a fun street car, no autox or dragstrip.

If I think I see what I see (What you really need is a part number.) they look like part number P4876624. At 1172.25 each new, $375 for a pair is a steal.

66fs There would be a few good reasons to swap to these heads. Lighter weight, 25lbs. better OOTB flow with smaller valves, 222 cfm @ .600 with 1.92/1.625 valves, ports out better than old iron, 1.6 ratio over the 1.5. This adds lift to the valve and anhair bit more intensity to the cam. The already have it set up for the 3/8 stud. Use cheaper Chevy gear.

But be careful of this aluminum Magnum heads super small 53 cc chamber!

These heads are used in the crate engine program. They made decent power for a stock port head.m
The draw back is swapping over to a Magnum top set up and swapping oil through lifters and pushrods along with the top end and building up the bare heads is a lot to do. You gotta want it.

Thanks for the write up. He doesn't want to ship, so it's a no go.

What you need is a New Jersey member to help you out!

Call in the N.J. crew.....!!!!!!

You give up too easily. There are several members here that live close enough to go get them if they are what you really want. Mullica Hill NJ is only a 20 mile ride for me and several others live even closer.

Thanks, I know. LoL.
I have a 68 340, not sure if I have actual x heads or not, rebuilt to factory specs with a very mild cam, step above stock.

I am body and paint and kinda got shiny object syndrome. I need to finish that before thinking about motor upgrades.

The guy gave you the part number to a complete head assembly. Not a bare head as pictured.

Not into Aluminum heads. 50 lb not a big deal. X heads flow 220 cfm at about .500 inch lift. No rockers, pushrods, or lifters to buy.

Not into aluminum. That’s fine.
50 lbs. not a big deal? I agree. Dependent on the goal of the car, it may be desirable.
Good X heads flow that, not all of them. Regardless, X heads don’t port out to plus 300 like these can do.
The bonus of staying with OE style gear is no extra expense! To equal the Magnum gear, the gear is more expensive for the LA though.

If I was going to build a 340 or 360 I would jump all over those heads. They can be made to flow real good but that is not the big advantage. The big advantage is you can run some pretty high compression with those heads. Somewhere in the 11.5 to 1 range on pump gas. Run a tight quench and those heads would be the best money spent on a healthy street engine and if you went the stroker route you would be well above 500 HP.

Someone buy them that’s an unbelievable price for aluminum mopar heads. Those heads would be a great head to retro fit on any LA or Magnum block. 53cc chambers I would love those on my stock 360LA. 1.92 on the intake valve sound perfect for street/strip encounter.

I agree with what you say, but for the O/P sounds like it is not worth it for what he wants.
Smoking deal though. Someone should recruit/pay Abodyjoe to check them out and snag them if you want. He should be able to look at them and make a good decision, in case they are not as advertised.

Hello All
I bought them last night. Offered him 300.00 and he took it drove two hours in the rain to get them. I wanted Aluminum Heads for a 408 I'm building for my lifted Grand Cherokee and don't want edelbrock for personal reasons. I hope I can get these to work if not they'll be for sale. I couldn't pass them up. I'm not looking for a 8 second race engine just a healthy stroker. What do you guys think?

Well, if you port them some to full, I think they’ll rock! Just not in the OOTB port configuration

If I could, I’d run with a 2.08 valve.
