I picked up some mopar rattle can engine paint from Summit racing, and sprayed my engine block, heads, valvecovers, etc. Needless to say I didn't have enough for a second coat, I was placing an order with Jegs anyway so I ordered 2 cans from them. When they came they were newer looking cans than the one I used from Summit. I tested it and it was the same color so I didn't think anything about it. I started spraying and by the time I looked back.. the new paint had begun to wrinkle, slightly on the valve covers and very bad on parts of the block. Not everywhere but in quite a few spots.
Does anyone know what might be causing this, and where do I go from here?
I plan to wire wheel/sand down the wrinkled spots and then try again. I am affraid I will get the same result.
Should I go back to Summit and order the original paint I started with??
Very frustrating..
Thanks Bryan
