Hey guys whats the difference between the orange box and the black standard box for electronic ignition ? i know the difference in rpm range they handle. i was reading that the orange box advances the timing slightly ? its just going on a stock slant

The timing is set by the distributor. The orange box's timing reaction to the falling edge of the trigger pulse may be a bit different, but it is not different to change timing.

The different boxes have different dwell time as well as different current drivers.

On a stock slant either will work great. Go with whatever one you can get your hands on cheaper

Actually, the orange box retards high RPM timing. It's a pretty well known thing.

Anyone ever use one of the JEGS-Mopar versions of the box? I believe they make an orange and a black box. I got the JEGS black box for cheaper than either of the Mopar boxes.
