Has anyone used this as a replacement and how well does it work? I was going to put the original pumpkin back in after I have someone go thru it and thought it might be a good idea to replace the axel bearings while I'm at it.

There are a lot of opinions on these bearings. They are ball bearings, like a Ford, not the stock tapered type.

And yes, there are at least two types of Green bearing set ups. It never seems to end with Mopar.

If no one chimes in, do a search and see what the guys think.

I had to switch to green when I went to disc brakes, but I haven't put any miles on it yet. Should be OK, I don't road race ! I used the snap ring type.

Hope this helps.

The "green bearings" are a highly debated subject but I look at it this way, other manufacturers used the same design in numerous rearends and they worked fine for yrs. so why won't they work fine in a Mopar? I do believe stock type Mopar tapered bearings are a better design for a street car but that's not saying the Green bearings aren't ok too.

Be aware that if you do change to the Green bearings you need to remove either the thrust pins or thrust block (depending on which differential you have) because the Green bearings are not designed to be side loaded like the stock tapered bearings.
