This old 2001 24v 6-speed has had a lot of Mopars behind it and even a couple shivvies. Mostly Oklahoma to San Diego trips.

The truck was bought new by my Dad right before I shipped off to boot camp. 22 years later it became mine.

Who else has Mopar tow rigs? Got pics? Post ‘em!

So, yesterday I’m on the home stretch of my Valiant recovery trip from California to Oklahoma and I come across this sweet ‘68 being towed by a Mopar. Rolled the window down and yelled, “You on FABO?”.
Sure enough, it was @Swifster hauling a prize back to Detroit City!

My 2004 quad cab diesel 6 speed. Owned it since new and is the only brand new vehicle I’ve ever owned.

Coming home from GA when I bought my 65 Barracuda from some :realcrazy: lady and her meth head son. Wasn’t easy to load the car in 100 degree heat with a Glock 17 on my pocket!

My tow pig is a 2001 also but not a Mopar. Chevy 3500 quad cab Dually. Owned since new and has 620k miles on it. Easily the single best vehicle I’ve ever owned. Turbocharged 8.1 BBC and an Allison 5 speed. Put 705hp to the tire and hauls anything and everything I put behind it.

Very impressive. Those were great engines that were neutered by emissions. Glad you put some balls back on it.

@JDMopar I’ve got a Ruger LC9 that lives in the door pocket and tuck a Glock 23. Beautiful truck.

Not the best tow rig but definitely the funnest I’ve ever had. Who wouldn’t want a 10 second tow rig? lol

Where's the old Conoco station?

Where's the old Conoco station?

Shamrock, TX. It was the inspiration for Ramon’s Garage in the movie Cars. It was purchased by the city and is now a historical marker. There’s a neat art deco styled diner inside that sells pie and coffee and a museum/gift shop.
I would guess about an hour east of Amarillo on I-40. I always try to stop there, especially when towing an old Mopar so I can get a pic.

Tucamcari, NM is always a great stop too.

This old car hauler was spotted when I was on a fire assignment up in Polson, MT (home of Doctor Diff). Goes along with that era of art deco design. Wish it was still on the road!

You guys have some nice trailers! I had to buy a trailer when I got to California. I was planning on getting a u-haul so I deadheaded out there. I usually use my dad’s 7500#. U-haul just re-enacted their policy of no one-ways out of California.
I was kind of expecting it and know a trailer business in El Cajon, CA so I took some cash. Got this 5000# for $3500 tax free (Agricultural Tax Exemption #) and a military discount. I knew I needed to get my own anyway.

1997 CTD 2wd 3500 DRW last year for the 12 valve. Purchased from original owners son with 79,000 miles 12 years ago, now 188,000 miles and plenty of life left.

My tow rig/daily driver. 2001 2500 5.9 auto. It kinda struggles with anything over 12k.

Dump trailer weighs almost 6K. I usually haul about 5 ton of rock. This Cletrac weighs about 8,500. They’re not rated for much. POS 47re. But it’s all I’ve got.

Ready for something a little bit newer.
