Spring Fling Speed Festival VII, May 9th, 2013 Willow Spring Int. Raceway’s “Big Track”.

Thursday, May 9th, 2013 at Willow Springs Raceway. This high performance driving event is for all cars and drivers. This is a High Performance Driving Event (HPDE) for street/OEM cars. Some prepared cars will attend as well. Run groups will be divided according to experience. Don’t be shy, this is not a race. It’s for the driving enthusiast. WE ENCOURAGE NEWBIES. Thanks for posting a photo of my car, Steve!

I thought I'd pop in to testify that this is BIG FUN!!!

There is also a significant pucker factor for you thrill junkies -- this is a fast course if you have a fast car. Even with a slow car, where else can drive for 30 minutes at a stretch alternating between wide open throttle and hard braking? You will definitely learn something about your car and about yourself.

I would love to do it and drive my car but 275.00 is out of my budget range. But would let somebody else drive my 65 Barracuda if they wanted. Bad *** buildt 360 and 4 speed with 8 3/4 suregrip I think 3.55 gears

Thanks

autoxcuda,

Is your Cuda ready?

Big variety of cars coming. Small group so lots of track time .

Im finishing prepping the Dart this weekend, ie, removing the staright line equip. Small torsion bars, high arch s/s springs, Skinnies in the front, in favor of some corner carving pieces. Hopefully no issues. I'm looking forward to testing the tunnel ram on the track. Installing an Innovate A/F gauge tomorrow and taking jets, etc, to try and dial the carbs in better if needed. 1st track day with this car.

Also Bob Tarozi ( Chryslers Trans am Liaison to Gurney's All American Racers) is coming and putting me through a skid pad exercise to evaluate the roll couple in the Dart. You might find this interesting. He likes to run numbers so this should be educational. Bringing some different torsion bars and sway bars.

Do you have .99 or near 1.00" T-bars?

i'm going to install 1.18's for a wheel rate around 380#/in.
Today I welded in the bung for the A/F O2 sensor. Hopefully get it wired tomorrow. Got the Halo , a-pillar to floor bars, and rear kickers welded in.

also tomorrow hope to paint a-pollar roll bar then re-install the windshield, relocate the battery box, and mount the wink mirror. Full day..... hope I can get it all done.
