I've been there! I used to live in the Ottawa area and drove up the 138 to cross over the Chenaux dam at Portage du Fort many, many times to visit a friend who lived in Beachburg on the Ontario side.

Ottawa/Gatineau has a massive Mopar community!
 
As for Moparfest, I'll be there again but not with my car. I had played with the idea of driving out and back but after I did the math, the ~$3500 round-trip fuel bill put the kibosh on that! :eek:
 
yeah I love that highway so much I drove it three times on wednesday lol.way faster than taking 17/416 on the ontario side .
 
Got my hotel booked in Cambridge... flying to Ottawa to meet my friends and driving down and back in my best bud's '64 Valiant convertible again. Six weeks, can't wait!
 
Well maybe we'll meet up on the road ,I plan on getting to Portage Tuesday or Wednesday that week then cruising over to Kitchener on the Friday .

It's not I'm in Victoria making money ,it was a toss up between staying there and doing the reno but not earning or back to Victoria to generate capital . I have a gal working for me there but shes a retiree so no heavy construction for her , Shes pulled the carpets out of the 1st floor and scrubbed some ceilings , painted the back deck stuff like that , she'll be painting the front porch trim this week but with the heat wave I don't want her out there doing too much . I've decided to do the lift in August when I come out for Moparfest and I'm removing some walls and replacing the last 3 wood windows then as well , I'll be back again when work slows down in December to redo the floors and get rest of the interior ready to paint the goal is to have it ready to go for next spring . If you don't do Moparfest I'll be sure to swing by and see you and Lori next trip it's only a few hours down back way eh .

That's about my schedule as well. Fly out Mon or Tues, drive Ottawa -> Cambridge on Friday. Keep an eye open for this pair of Valiants on the backroads!

For sure Dave , I think John (Moparwedden) has his over heating problem worked out so we'll probably meet up on the way , maybe we can all cruise together eh . You guys parking with us at the show ?
 
My buddies are creatures of habit and park in the same spot every year... they have a logarithm for the perfect location equidistant to the toilets, food trough and parts venders... or something like that. Can't break tradition! :realcrazy::D
 
I understand them completely , our routine is based on the FABO location ,we have to cross the whole show field to get to the vendors but that gives us the opportunity to walk the field by taking different routes .Plus we are closer to the bathrooms and specialty foods .
 
oh they probably got it right away Michelle gets swamped in the last couple of weeks before the deadline .I was 158 and she called me to tell she had sent it the beginning of June so 4 weeks before the deadline and she processed 700 people between yours and mine in that time .
 
Is the show generally "sold out" before hand or can someone show up the day of and enter a car? It's been a while since I had a car in Ontario to bring. :p
 
Yeah you can even slide into our club area if your buddies change their mind and decide to join us .It's getting close now my road trip starts next friday .
 
I'm going to be skipping the festivities this year. My wife and I will be up north at the cottage for a much needed 2 week vacation. I hope the weather is great for the show, and that one of you guys comes home with the 15k grand prize!!
Please post up lots of pics, as I'll be checking up on the thread once we get back home.

Well the no show list seems to he growing , I wonder what effect the changes have had on that .The cash prize doesn't seem all that enticing to me ,if I wasn't making the trip to work on my house there I probably wouldn't be going to the show either .
Anybody talk to Hemiroid (Kenny) ? is he selling in the vendors area this year ?
