nah at the time he was wanting to sell it his wife got a restraining order against him and they were goning through a bad divorce, she was gonna junk the car to piss em off but i kept telling him and pushing him to drag it out of there so one night he hooked it up n towed it down the street were it sits behind a barn now, he wanted 9k obo at the time but im pretty sure the way the guy is he would take alot less for it

her are some more sad pics of my new project. today i put a coil on it and wired up a points dist. and she fired up! tomarrow i'm going to put on a T.Q. and see if she moves under her own power. mice have had their way with the wiring. the color is more of a maroon-ish color, orginaly A4 silver car. and if i remember right, that was corn in the field.
Awesome find there!!!!!!!:happy3:
If you ever want to sell the slots, let me know.:bounce:Are all 4 one it
vbpgimage.php

i only paid $900 for this,but yep,theyre out there.

here are the latest pics of my demon project. i spent almost all last weekend stripp'n it down all is removed and in little baggies. i will be blasting it on friday. however i need to find another way to blast it, i have another car on the rotisserie, and would really like to flip this car 360-degrees, i'll figure it out some how by then. found no real suprises other than i really didn't find more rust than i expected to find. (that's good and bad) was wishing for less rust. so the latest pic i have for you guys is the almost bare shell. the k-frame and rearend will be removed for blasting, i just need it rolling so i can push it out of the shop everyday this week untill blasting day. i will put up more pics this weekend after blasting so you can see all the swiss cheese i think i will find.

i was just looking at the demon, and was thinking of putting a "real" headliner in it and not that cardboard crap because i hate those. i'll have to compare with a '70-'71 duster that's out back but at a glance it looks like all i need to do is drill the holes for the headliner bows. i'll need to check and see if there are teeth in the correct places for the headliner. has anyone else tried this??? and had success?:dontknow:

well, we blasted today. got my demon done and my friend's twister duster that is in need of all the same as my car. a few suprises showed up in my car and a few in his. i had about 2 dozen walnuts come out of the rockers!!! i will have better pics in a few days of the swiss cheese that was found. frame is ok just a few pin holes in the rear and a few pin holes in the firewall at the inner fender area. other than those areas i already knew of all the other places where rust was going to be. next step is getting it all in primer so it doesn't rust anymore.

and it does appear that i will be able to use a 70 headliner in my 72! after i drill the holes for the bows!=D>

Hi All, new here. Great forum. I'm restoring a 73 360 Dart Sport (clone) but I was talking to a friend of a friend about cars just last week and he said he knew where a Duster or Demon was in a backyard rusting away. Turns out it was a 72 340 Demon.
It was rusted badly (both rear quarters, the trunk lip, trunk floor, inside floors and more) but the motor runs (valves and oil pan very clean). I gave the guy $400 and had it towed to my house where I already stripped it down. I really hate to destroy a numbers matching car but from the quarter windows back the car was more rust than metal. Plus the car was stored unevenly, rusted so bad or it was wrecked at one time because the doors won't close. A shame really.
BTW- I'm keeping the motor and 8 3/4.
Anyway, you never know, as hard as it seems to find one when you want to, they are still out there.

Not an A-Body but, I see this 72 Roadrunner daily. I've been trying to buy this car for years. It's your classic "Cars in yards" scenerio. Owner says he's gonna fix it up some day.

Pulled this one out from behind a barn a couple ago,was last inspected in '84.
71 Twister /6 3-speed disc-brakes,8 3/4 3.23 sure-grip i have no idea why a /6 would need an 8 3/4 rear!

That car has a 340 grill. Almost looks like a front swaybar mount hanging down, too. Did you check the vin for an H? I saw a Duster at PYP a few years back that was /6 auto w/8 3/4. Who knows what you might find.

Twisters came with sharktooth grilles just like the 340 cars.

I drive past a `69, 340 `Cuda every day and the owner says the same thing. Meanwhile the car just rots away. If these people were ever serious about restoring these old cars ,they would dry store them or at least block them up and cover them. :banghead:They`re all full of s**t!

here's a way to buy the " i'm gonna fix it someday"...go ask his wife when he's NOT home, just before X-mas...works 99%.of the time

found a doner body, might even be a new body for my demon. blasting showed no promise upon further inspection. getting other body on sunday, i'll have to put them side by side and see what i have to work with.

What ever happened to it?

It was severely rotted! The floors were all but gone and the left front frame rail was non-existent!
I stripped everything that was still good or salvageable and the rest went for scrap.
The 8 3/4 is now in my 71 Duster.

I did say 99%....trade him/her for something .. say a lawn mower maybe....really. maybe an everyday driver that works too..

Congrats on a nice find. I woulda been all over it, too. Looks like you have your work cut out for you.....but my kind of project, for sure!;)

My friend asked about some 70 something Dusters sitting in a guys yard. The guy said he was going to fix them up one day. We went by there yesterday and he had one backed up in his garage with the hood up. Looks like he is starting to fix one up. LOL.

I ran across a 69 super bee up in Walhalla one day about 7 years ago. Not much rust, orignal owner, 383 four speed, air grabber hood- Beautiful complete car. That guy wouldnt budge! I stopped a couple different times but he wasnt selling. That poor car had a tree growing between the bumper and tail light panel- Damn shame.

That's a shame!

I have heard but don't know if it is true or not about a 69 Charger in lower part of Walhalla. The guy had it parked where everyone could see it going down the road. People was stopping in so much to buy it that he torched it so no one would stop by and ask! He was a old drunk I believe. Why not move it or cover it up so no one would ask about the car!
