more than just a screen name

Mine is a carry over from an offroad site that I am one of the admins on and my 500cc four stroke dirtbike is a beast in the trails.
 
Most of the names I wanted were taken. Seems like everything I came up with , it came up sorry (maybe I should have tried SORRYDART). Anyway ended up at the end of the alphabet, was reading the comic strips and saw Zigs. It went through, here I am.
 
Mine is a fluke since my car turned out to be a72 and then its my initials but funny story when i worked for wa state internet security they suggested i make a name that sounded like a **** star so chat room users would trust me more lmfao it was clit jizzwood
 
I bought my 1971 Duster 340 from David Frieburger, the editor of Hot Rod Magazine. I didn't know who he was at the time. DFX 340 Duster = David Frieburger's eX-340 Duster. DFX is also a tribute to the old Factory eXperimental classification. I was going to stab a New Gen Hemi in the car, hence the FX descriptor, but David, my neighbor, and my friends convinced me to put a 340 in the car since it is an H code. So I added the D and made the double meaning.
 
My mother's side of the family came to Virginia in 1607 with the first ships coming to Jamestown. I live across the river about ten miles away from the settlement. So that's mine, Va. for Virginia and the year I was born, 58.
 
Your observation has parallels in our “real” names.
One’s name is the summation of a person. It represents who they are.
Think of the historical figures who’s name no one (in good judgment) would use for their child.
My screen name has more than one meaning.
So does my avatar and signature.
“a driver” : The type of car I prefer, as opposed to a museum piece.

And “A driver”. What I drive.
 
I own a 1969 Dart, I was also born in the summer of 69. I am not really a deep thinker. You all can feel free to call me Michael.

Well, for me Speedracer was always one of my favorite shows when I was a kid (I even named my band Mach 5).. And Racer X was my favorite charachter on that show.. so, I just ran them together.. SpeedracerX ... I have used variations of this screen name for many other things, such as email and other websites I frequent. and people have been calling me 'speed' for years because of it... So it has just stuck..
 
my last name is Kramer. most people in high school called my Kramer, as opposed to my 1st name, Ryan. About 6 or so months ago i joined the Marines and im a poolee....Poolee Kramer. My car is a 1970 Dart Swinger which i love. always thought Swinger was a cool name for a car, and VERY 70's. KramerSwinger70 was born. what i like about my name is its really Kramer(S)winger70, so its kinda like PetSmart = is it Pet's Mart or Pet Smart?
 
Again, not too much thought was put into my screen name. When I joined, I had the '65 Valiant 'vert that's in my signature. Well, that was back a ways, and it has been sold in the meantime. I've thought about changing it to reflect the fact that I have a '67 Dart 'vert now, but i think all the cool "'67 Dart" names are taken. Anyway, I have a reputation to live down to with my handle:D:D:D. As far as the avatar goes, I always loved watching Bud Lindemann on the show "Car & Track" when I was younger...the way they'd wring out a piece and tell you the truth about whether it was a gem or not. I wish it was still on TV. I know Speed was running it some years back. I've always credited Dad with getting me into cars, specifically Mopars, as that's all he ever owned. He taught me all sorts of stuff while laying underneath a jacked-up 50's or 60's Mope in the driveway.

I had the Grim Reaper painted on the hood of my car. The reaper was coming to get any Fords or Chevies that wanted to contend. So some of my motorhead buddies started referring to me as "Grimreaper" instead of the car.
 
When I joined I was in the process of buying a plum crazy dart. Guy had sent it to body shop to have a couple things touched up, said it would be ready next week. Well after multiple calls and many next weeks I got tired of waiting and bought my gtx clone. I wasn't after a particular car, just knew I needed a mopar. Ended up with a dart a few months later for the son's dd. Keep thinking about changing my screen name. BTW name's Peter, call me whatever you want, I've been called a lot of things not all nice. :)
 
Mine was fairly easy to come by , my son joined first and wanted 73Duster but that was not available so he came up with 7Duster3 and it just became natural that I become MR.7DUSTER3 when I joined a week later.

I got mine when I first signed up on feebay . I work on all things diesel. I have a lot of fun at
what I do. So I wound up with funwithfuel. I use that for everything. It's me 'n it fits.
 
Mine dates back to High School. Had a instructor/teacher that was completely against anything that wasn't factory. He said the factory engineers spent countless hours/weeks/months developing the best factory parts for reliability and power. Aftermarket manufacturers were just out to get your money with "hollley 4 barrels, aluminum intakes, headers, ect. Was talking to my older brother, and he let me bring his Demon to the "Shop Class." Had 3-2 barrels on it when he bought it, and 4 speed, with 3.91s. Instructor started fussing about aftermarket crap, till he inspected under the hood, and found Chrysler Pt number on intake. I would leave parking lot going sideways thru 3 of 4 gears every time I got to drive it. After that, the instructor called me FAST NOS. (Fast NEW OLD STOCK)
Back then, we didn't have the internet, but the name has stuck with me since. Always had an A-body thru most of Air Force career, and always used screen name for car clubs and forums ever since. I even had a plate on 1 Duster that said FASTNOS.
 
My wife came up with mine. Just the color of my car and the year. Did get me the nickname "Burnt" I kind of like. Was going to make it my Email too but it was taken already buy some one. O well.
 
I agree with Rani that screen names can become sort of a "persona". Most of the time I use my screen name like a name but will always sign off a message with my real name, Geof!! It starts to become like a different person after awhile, and I commonly refer to my wife on here as "Mrs. C"!!!

Cosgig is not a name by any means, just the initials of my band that I've had since 1989, "Company of Strangers", and my kids initials... Genelle and Ian Galliher. I've used it for years everywhere else, why not here too!! Geof
 
When I joined I was looking at a '71 Duster so mine is Kegan(my name) and 71 for that Duster I since got a Dart and we have a '71 Twister so I didn't bother to change it.
