Hey Folks,

Have a leak on the 727. Gonna be in the 50's here, so I'll be out in the garage draining and dropping the pan...again! It appears to be seeping from a particular point on the gasket. Shifter Shaft, Filler tube are dry. I'll check the pan for dimples etc, but was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Moroso Permailgn gaskets? Good, Bad Ugly? Also, it's significantly thicker than any other gaskets I've used. Has me wondering if I'll need longer bolts?

Thanks in advance,
Pat

There are some steel core, rubber coated trans pan gaskets that Mopar sells. But you can find the same ones from the aftermarket manufacturer. It has raised ribs to concentrate the sealing loads. Should be available from Mopar, Summit and Rock Auto. I have some for a 904 but they certainly must have them for 727's as well. I'm at work and can't look the numbers up at the moment.

Slightly longer bolts can help reduce the chance of stripping out the aluminum threads. But the OEM length should be enough if everything else is OK.
