Motor ID Help

I looked at a motor my dad had stored in his garage yesterday Mom wanted me to get rid of it as my dad passed away a couple years ago and she wants the room.
So the number is 2205687 3 RL.
I looked it up and it shows that number for a 413 and 426.
How can I differentiate one from the other?
If I remember right, my dad said it was out of a CHP car.
Any help would be appreciated. Needless to say, I am not just " Getting rid of it".

Look in front of the intake on top of the motor there should be a flat spot about the size of a Zippo lighter.On that flat pad is usally stamped 413,426,or 440.Oh and you may have to clean off some paint,grease,etc to see the numbers.

A 426 has a 4.25" bore. The 413 will be smaller.

@ 4.190. Also the 413 had puny exhaust valve heads.

looks like a 426 is a .060" over 413.

They have the same stroke, it's just the bore that makes them different...
