Can you use small block spool mounts on a big block and a small block k frame? I've herd there is no difference between a big block and small block k frame, is this true?

It's saying nothing about spool mounts, only poly locks. My question is can you use a 73 know frame with spool mounts to use with a 440? Sorry, I wasn't very clear. I have a k frame that had a 318 with spool mounts. I herd that a big block would bolt right up, just wondering if that was indeed fact.
 
No, it is not a "direct" bolt in. The mount perches on the k frame will set the big block too far forward and twist the engine center line to the car. You could cut and move the perches on the kframe, look up Jim Lusk on here he has some how to videos ( in essence you are making a DC k frame ). Also the actual spool mounts are different from a small block to big block, so you'd have to source those and they are getting harder to find. The other option is the Schumacher conversion mounts ( http://www.engine-swaps.com/Pages/ProductsYear/73UP.html ) 73 up small to big block conversion.

That's what I thought, I was thinking big block spool mounts are taller if I remember right. And small blocks are offset as well, can't remember though as I haven't messed with hardly any small block stuff
 
Big block spool mounts are taller and the ears on the block are different, as well. My videos will show you how to make a DC k-member. Last I looked it wasn't hard to find the mounts on E-bay.

I just looked for these, and Summit only lists truck applications.

So do they make a spool type?
 
Not that I know of could try calling them.. like said you have to move the mounts on the K member and get new spool mounts or make your own adapters..
