mounting ears - 5.9 5.2 any differences

just sitting in the office, and it pops up in my mind... maybe a stupid question:

- is there any difference regarding the mounting ears on 5.2 and 5.9 magnum blocks ?

i´m asking because i will avoid to run into problems when swaping my 273 out and putting the 5.2 in

so the question cld also be: are LA 273/318 mounting ears equal to 5.2 magnum block ears ?

As far as I know,none Mr.Red Hood.. The engine was designed to be in trucks only,think LA 360, or 318 La mounts,shimmed with washers like LA 360 swap would need.

The 5.2 and 5.9 magnum uses a 340/360 LA drivers side engine mount bracket.

I believe this is correct. You can modify 273/318 with welder and make them work

short update...

driver side: if you have an early a-body mount you can use it, i only needed a 0.075" washer

passenger side: the magnum block has different ear lobes compared to a 273/318 LA-Block, so lower lope on the rear is missing and instead of that, it has one on the front side.

so you have to modify the bracket - first i mounted the orig. bracket and made a cardboard template from the missing section/part

then copied it with some metal parts laying around and bolted it onto the orig. bracket. to make it a bit more stiffer i welded all the pieces together
