Instrument panel and bezel removed and refurbished only 69 Barracuda. Trying to install an original thumbwheel radio I purchased. I am having a difficult time understanding how the clips that were left in place work. There is a bolt in the clip without slot or phillips head. It does not screw out of the clip and appears to be permanently set. Can someone please explain?

There are two studded clips. For Barracuda, these clips are staggered not in a line as in a Dart. You will need two nuts with captured washers, needing a 7/16 socket. There is also a lower "L" shaped bracket to support the back of the radio. It needs a phillips screw to attach it to the lower dash frame lip.

Thanks Murray. I had just realized that there should have been nuts on those clips.

One more question. The radio I have and the car do not have the rear bracket. I can make one but would like a pic of what it looks like and where it attaches.

Here you go.

Maybe a photo of the radio you plan to use. The rally dash thumbwheel radios have unique brackets.

My faceplate and radio is correct for the 69 Barracuda. I think I have it figured out. Just need to make up some sort of rear support bracket. Thanks to everyone.
