MP distrib. advance setup

I was reading an article in Mopar Action Feb.2013 on tuning MP ignition called Cal TEch. It goes on to say that MP distrib. build after 2000 are virtually impossible to setup to run correctly. Has anyone had a problem with this MP ignition system build after 2000? What was your solution or setup that worked for you.

somewhere in the early 2000s, mopar performance had mallory start making their electronic distributors ....to adjust the mechanical advance you need the kit from Mallory ....

if you look inside your distributor under the plate that mounts the pickup coil...slowly turning it ..look for a allen head screw ..and there will be a slot next to it....the slot is for the mallory keys that set the advance....some people know the width of the keys as can post them..so you dont have to buy the kits....

if you see no allen head screws...then you have an older MP distributor and the distributor advance slots have to be welded up to adjust it...
