Hi, I have a magnum 360 that I've put a carbed M1 intake on and was wondering if I could keep the magnum distributor and use an msd or equivalent ignition box to control the ignition timing. Would I still need the crank sensor on the block?

no the factory magnum distributor uses a hall effect sensor and is more made for a cam sensor signal for computer

put an electronic older LA distributor in or if you wish one of them ready to run units you can buy
