1970 Duster, 340 with electronic ignition, orange box 4 pin. I got a two pin ballast, picture below. I got a MSD Blaster 2, 8202. Question I have is do I need to add another ballast per the MSD directions? If the answer is to check the ohm's on the ballast, how do I do that. Between the two pins? Wire colors may not be correct, but they do go to the correct connections.

Second question, It appears my ignition now is wired as per Mopar electronic distributor directions. Except I have a capacitor or something connected between the coil + and ground. What is this for, and do I need it? Pictures below.

you dont need another ballast resistor if you have the stock one...

condensors are usually used to get rid of static in the radio....

The 8202 destructions say to use their .8 ohm resistor

The 8202 coil is considerably lower resistance than the Mopar coils, IE

8202 MSD shows at .7 ohms coil + .8 ohms resistor

Mopar (depending on what book you read) shows the coil at about 1.4--1.55 (Essex) or 1.6--1.79 (Prestolite) with a ballast of .5--.6 for either coil.

I would say if MSD says to use their resistor, that is what you should use.

Been driving around with a chrome box....msd blaster 2 coil and stock ballast resistor for 7 yrs now....must not be that important...lol
