MSD box and ballast resistor

Hello all
Is it true if you have an msd box you do not need a ballast resistor?
My car has both, and I am confused
I would appreciate any comments

Hi I just called MSD and they told me you don't need the ballast resistor. Hope this helps.

the ballast works with the stock ecu, which needs the ballast. The MSD controlls the ignition now and no, you do not need it.
