mufflers for around the house use?

What do the ends of the headers look like? Are they straight, "race only?"

yes, straight cut, just straight pipe.

a co-worker gave me 2 3.5" turn downs, so i may just weld them to some bullet type mufflers and use the band clamps on the headers...depending on how it sounds, and doesnt affect performance, i may just leave them on.

I made an exhuast for mine out of 2 sections of straight pipe and a cheap pair of welded mufflers. I used an old set of collector reducers, welded all to gether, but had to cut a small slice in the straight pipes to bend a slight angle in them. Welded a bolt thru the froor for the nuffler hanger. I can swap them on/off in 5 to 10 minutes. Cost was about 80 bucks. Only use them at home for running car without making neighbors angry.

i have hooker fenderwell headers with a 3 1/2 inch flange i use a 3 1/2 inch collecter 3 1/2 inch flex pipe and a oval muffler with 3 1/2 in and out want to get cherry bomb glasspacks 3 1/2 in 3 1/2 out the set up is easy on easy off no compliants yet but had compliants with the open headers i just dont understand its music to my ears a big block mopar with open headers

I welded a strip of flat stock on the extension
And and one on the muffler and drilled holes for
2 1/4" bolts to hold them in place.
We have to run mufflers during points races
