Yes, they did a superb job on getting the gaps lined up nicely. Although the hood still had a good size gap they tweaked the header panel and got it lined up really well.

They got the gap between hood and header panel lined up. Re-enforced the door handle area and re-did the drivers door. Had to take away excess body work on passenger quarter. Got the doors lined up and finished most of the body work on doors, quarters and fenders. Had a problem with the passenger side hood hinge. It was bowing when you tried to close hood. Wound up replacing it. Glad I had an extra one.

Quarter panel is pretty much finished up. Door is lined up and fender is looking good. Front valance is finished. Trunk lid has been lined up and filled in beautifully. The body man filled in the gap and smoothed everything out. After the body work was done he took a dremel and cut the gap out. Beautiful job.

First pic is the used fender I put on the car that must have been wrecked at some point. Previous body shop didn’t fix it. The body man drilled out the spot welds, flattened it out and filled it in. Did a little touch up on the roof body work. Roof lines and quarters are finished up. The sixth pic with the arrow in it shows the crease in the quarter. I have only seen a couple 67-69 barracudas with this crease although it is supposed to be there. I was amazed to see that whoever did this at the first body shop knew it was supposed to be there. Having built and purchased a lot of Barracuda model kits and knowing they have this crease, I almost have to assume the body man may have been a modeler as well.
Last but not least the front end parts have been removed to be painted separate from the body.

Took off all the parts and put the first coats of primer on.

Took a long time to finally get in the spray booth. Body shop moved to a new location. It was an old body shop that hadn’t been used in years. Took a while to get both booths up and running. Had to do some retro fitting to make it work. She’ll be getting painted in a few days. I’ve been gettin really antsy the last couple months.

What stage of the restoration are you at? Obviously, I see the last date appears to be Jan 2008

I was amazed to see that whoever did this at the first body shop knew it was supposed to be there. They put tape above the line and sanded up to it; then put tape below the line and sanded down to it. This way they did not diminish, move, or erase the body lines in the process. There is also the line on the C-pilar on the notch that is a little more obvious.

I used to have a '68 Barracuda convertible over 30 years ago. I always thought something was off. When I started stripping multiple layers of paint and bondo I figured out that they had shifted that body line on the fender, door, quarter up an inch or more in the process of mudding the car with bondo. It was almost Camaro-ish.

Yes it is difficult to see. You almost have to be looking for it to notice it. I have the lower body stripe which makes it less noticeable. By the way, nice car.
