Thanks, it's the correct (and original) '69 hood and dash. The dash is virtually identical between '68 and '69. The hood is also the same on the '68 and '69 with the only real difference being in the hood badge and inserts. The '68 hood has these inserts...

69 dash didn't have the lower pads. Only 68. You are correct about the hood. I also have a gts. Mines a 68.

We are 30 days from closing on the new house with the 2 car garage where the GTS will live. I have been doing a little photoshop "test fitting" of her in the new space...
I also bought some new tin sign art work for the garage for when I get it refurbished the way I want...

I love the car and I'm really stoked about getting her into a nice garage in the new house so I can tinker with her over the Winter.
In addition to the tin signs, I am going to get some of my photoshop art printed in poster size to hang in there.
This one is my newest piece that I want to hang on the big space next to where the GTS will sit...

Now that Summer is almost over and the Fall car show season is about to begin, I thought I would update the thread with the progress on the GTS so far this year.
We got moved in to the new house and the car sat quietly over the Winter. In April I started making progress on her again. First up was power front disc brakes and all new rear brakes including the drums. I also changed the front shocks to KYB gas-adjust.
After that was done, I added longer rear spring shackles to adjust the stance and wider rear tires (225/60/14)
Then I detailed all of the wheels and dog-dish caps and took her to the first car show in May.

As the weather turned warmer, I turned my attention to under the hood.
First I retro-fitted the fender to firewall braces from the later A bodies. These make a difference in the handling that you can really feel.
Then I did some customization to the breather cover to carry the red/black/silver look down the sides.
I followed that with redoing the look of the battery, adding under hood decals, painting the lettering on the PS cap, putting the correct metal tag on the AC and replacing/restoring as much of the hardware as I could.
All-in-all, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out...

First I pulled the old over-sized spare out, cleaned up the tire well and put in a new 155/80/14 spare that would sit flush with the trunk pan like the factory original one did.
Then I installed a new spare cover board.
Now the trunk mat sits flat like it should.
Then I installed a fire extinguisher with a metal quick release mounting bracket.
And the last detail was to install a sure-grip jacking instruction decal to the deck lid.

The last of the details I got done this Summer was to replace the armrest bases, front door pulls and install a passenger side mirror.
Well, that's all the progress to date. A fairly productive Spring and Summer I think. Now it's time to enjoy the coming Fall with car shows and cruising!

Well, now that it's past Labor Day I started on some Fall stuff.
In anticipation of some car shows coming up, I wiped her down with my detailing towel from bumper-to-bumper and under the hood to make her ready.
(It sure would be nice to get a show trophy before the season is over)
I also finally found my old bottle of vinyl top dressing from back when I owned the auto upholstery business. The stuff is over 30 years old and still works wonders, just like it always did...
I also installed the new dash bezels I bought over the Summer (except the instrument cluster one which I'll do later). That one was the best of the 3 anyway so I don't mind waiting. I also detailed the dash while I was at it...
There's a fairly big car show next weekend and I hope I can do well at it (they have really cool 'piston' trophies). Fingers crossed!

Spring has sprung and I'm back to working on the GTS again. At the end of last year I got new SS rear springs installed. In the past few weeks I've installed new Mopar Performance 0.920 torsion bars, a front air dam (from a '91 Ranger pickup) and yesterday I got my new ARE Ansen Slot Mags and BFG tires installed. 15x7 wheels with 245/60/15 rear tires and 215/65/15 front tires. It really gives the car a whole new look!

I think I've finally gotten the car to closely match the '69 GT 340 I had 30 years ago. My wife says it looks like I reached back in time to bring it here...
