My 1971 Duster 6.1 Hemi build

I think I've got a well balanced drive-train that should be a lot of fun to drive; and who knows' if it ever STOPS raining the body work may get finished and the car can be PAINTED!!!!

Correct, just need to drag it back don to Pasadena for final welding. Can you weld it while I wait so I can turn it back for power coating?

Chances are I'll have to straighten it once I weld it and that might take awhile.....and you mentioned painting it a few weeks ago. I can prime it with epoxy primer and then hit it with acrylic enamel. Yesterday would have been a good day for painting At least around here it would have been.

Btw, tried to call you over the weekend. Thought I'd take pics of the 'A' body housing and put it out there for sale but can't remember what you said you wanted for it. Oldtimers man lol. Give me a shout when you can.

Straightened the housing yesterday and getting it ready for paint. Not going to get much better than this!! The 3.73's are done and are bagged and tagged. And don't worry about the mess. I'm still in the process of getting rid of junk and things are still being moved around. Between my daughter's car, your 8 3/4 and everything else that's going on around here, I'm doing good to get anything done!

The weather in the Houston area for the year and for the entire state in the month of May has been dismal. Yes we'll take the rain but do we have to get it all at once and at the cost of lives? Since the body shop in Conroe, TX my car is in is actually a 6 car metal building on a concrete slab, it's been difficult to get much work done over the last couple of months. Finally, it's the first week of June and we have strung together consecutive sunny days! The car should be off the rotisserie next week to begin finally block sanding in preparation of paint.

I want to carry a full size spare and my 255/40/18 will just fit into my spare tire well; thought it is considerably wider than an E70-14!

Undercarriage has been epoxy primed and sprayed with the first coat of LizzardSkin Sound Control. Will be spraying a second coat of SC today, June 5 as well as into the trunk. Will then be spraying the Ceramic Insulation on the inside floor, firewall and roof.

I went ahead and sand blasted the housing and did that today. Just too many little rust pits (and several larger ones) and I had the media sitting here. Weather permitting, it'll get epoxy primer on it in the next day or two.

You ever get the hydroboost to work with the Hemi? I'm on the process now. It's looking like a 45 degree bracket to click the hydroboost and then another bracket to level out the master.

Sorry for not updating in a while. The Duster is still in the body shop, but is now in the final stages of block sanding. I snapped some shots to try and get good pictures of the body lines and panel alignment

Anything new with this? I haven't touched mine except for when I put stuff on it! The plan for today is to work on some suspension parts after I finish the yard.....yup, it's only a plan. I'm sure something else will come up to change it.

My Body & Paint guy had a career ending brain tumor (Prayers for Rick) which put this project on hold for a few years. I've found a shop in Moscow Mills, MO, and it may be going into the shop for paint Saturday November 2, 2019.

It wasn't as bad as it looks because we had a winch and the shell is so light two people can pick up and end or side!
