Got the outside of the hood all done. Bought myself an English wheel. Helps a lot. Got a few pieces to do on the inside now. Should be easier than the outside.
Started on the inside of hood. Did the first piece in 18ga. Too much cold forming insitu so the next piece I did in 20ga. Much easier. Except I hate welding that thin stuff.
Little more done on the hood. Just have a small section left on the other side. Should be able to do that in one piece. My sore neck says we’ll have to finish up tomorrow. Still need to clean up the welds. Hoping to get the hood put on the car tomorrow.
Got the hood metal work done and stuck it back on. Used a right angle die grinder to clean up the inside welds. I put the valance on and I’m deciding what to do with it. I think I’m going to delete the front bumper and I might fill in the valance. Kinda like this blue one I saw on the net. I’m also thinking about the fiberglass valance from VFN. Decisions decisions.
I’ve decided what I’m doing with the front now. I’ve got a 64 grill coming. Thank you to @cosgig for the grill!!!! I’m going to fill in the lower valance and add some scallops to it that match the V shape from the hood and grill. I’ll also add some fog lights towards the outsides. The bumper will be deleted. Stay tuned, I think it’s going to look awesome.
I know it’s been awhile. Progress should pick up again next month. Lots of house projects going on and I accidentally bought a Harley project that’s been distracting
I did finally buy a rotisserie. I would definitely recommend this brand I got. Great price, shipped fast, and seems very well built. I did build my own brackets to save $160.
