My brother sold his 66 Charger with the 440 6 pack even though I kept telling him what a fool he was. Today we drove my 73 Dart Sport to look at this 73 Dart Sport and he ended up buying it. The owner was a body man and a fabricator. He shaved the door handles, sidemarkers, fuel filler and taillights. He added a power antenna recessed into the fender. He did a beautiful job on a mini tub. He installed a Rocky Mountain Dash, a rear roll pan, shaved the front bumper bolts and moved it in 3 inches, filled in the area behind the seat and made a fold down seat and custom package tray, put in GPS and back up camera (hidden in the ashtray), and a pull out flip up TV with Playstation in the trunk. He did custom trunk insulation with flames molded into the vinyl. He set up the big block suspension and put in a newly rebuilt 383. He has an aluminum radiator and a custom made shroud. He painted it silver with orange accents. The car is beautiful. Here are some pics.

Very nice git for your brother. When he decided to go "A" he could have done a whole lot worse. Man, there's some serious fab on that car....i like it.

He had a 67 Cuda before his Charger, so he is not a total newby to A bodies. He always liked this style. I think it reminds him of his Duster from high school days.

Dam that is just sweet ...What did he $$$$$$$$$$$$.....Or even a ball park ######## would be nice..

Ha, I figured you'd be on here posting pics!

Nice big block sunroof car. I would trade a 66 charger for that anyday.
440 or 383?

Yup, thats why I did it. The Charger never really did it for me, but it was a great stepping stone to a much nicer car. While I did let a lot of my best parts go with the Charger, this Dart is much more street friendly which I kinda like.

Looks like something from overhauling.

Looks clean and looks like the guy did some nice work. Just not my style.

Beautiful paint, engine and interior. As for the trunk with the TV i'll pass but for what you paid for it totally worth it. Enjoy it and best of luck!!

while i respect the work and time that went into it, its not my cup of tea. especially the tail lights IMO. the dash looks great. but as long as every one is happy, thats all that matters

With the exception of the playstation in the trunk, and "maybe" the tail lights, I like it. It gives me some ideas.

I really like the dash.

I was in the same mindset as your brother, thinking you were crazy to get rid of the Charger. My cousin had a 66 Charger when I was younger, and I absolutely LOVED that car. Granted, his only had a 318, not a 440+6, so he wouldn't have had the same issues as yours.

Personally, I like the taillights AND the Playstation in the trunk. Course, if I were to take something like that to a car show, I'd have to find some way to entertain two seven year old boys and the Playstation would come in very handy for that. To each their own.
My wife, MommaCat, was wondering where the back up lights are, though.

Great find, and I hope you have a good time with it.

The whole rear end treatment made me hesitate to even look at the car, but its not as bad in person. Might replace bumper at some point if I can notch it for the exhaust tips and not look funky. My brother has one on his car I am sure he wont miss...

The Overhaulin deal in the trunk is easily removed, but I might leave it. He had a point when he explained why he did it- car shows can be boring. At least this way you can watch a movie or play games, keeps the kids entertained.

Only thing I think should be possibly changed is the tail lights or lack there of. It would be a huge loss if somebody ran into the back of it no being able to see the tail lights. The playstation in the trunk is great at car shows as you always have something to do!

If the stripe would go all they way straight instead of the little 'downward spike' it would look better too...mabye some 383 callouts at the bottom of the stripe??
It needs some bigger tail lights on the back, maybe from a 71 Duster...or maybe even a 71 or 72 dart tail lights. I do like how they tucked the front bumper in and got rid of the 'stickon' side marker lights. I'd probably have to do something with the door panels too. But it looks like you got a Great start to a really nice car.

brilliant fab work, cool customizing. $9k sounds like you stole it. Still, not my kinda car personally but you cannot deny the value. you couldnt build that think for $9k!
