Just installed my fresh 360. Figured i would show you guys my custom cutouts i made. Cable driven with lawnmower throttle cables

oh yeeeaaa - been a while since I have actually looked at one and being a non-smoker I don't even think of an ashtray.. cool stuff
 
Here are a couple under shots. The cutouts are 3" thin wall galv steel. The rest of the exhaust is 2.75" 304 stainless. Probly wont see many other cars with 2.75" pipes lol i know the pipes are crooked in the pics. They are fixed now. I have unlimited rotation at the header flange. Everything is 100% welded. 8 bolts pulls the whole system. I will be putting in a x-pipe really soon

How do these work? The flaps are internal?
 
Yes the flaps are just a couple inches inside the tips. They are mounted on a shaft the holds them in place. The shaft petrudes thru the top of the pipe and thats where i have an adjustable mounting tab for the cable drive
 
Seems like they work pretty good. I'm tempted to try something like that as well, I have dumps already, but they are the manual ones, so I never use them.
 
I made a single cutout from scratch on my 55 Olds when I was in high school using a lawnmower cable...
