Looking good man!
BTW did you ever weld the 8.8 brake line brackets on the diff? Lol.
Not yet I have them tho I cut them off the spare rear I wanted to get everything mounted first that way I can run the brake hoses and lines and figure out where to weld it lol

Weld them here. Lol

That's what I was thinking I looked at your pics when i was kinda test fitting them but mine dont seem to want to bend that direction maybe i had them backwards

Hmm. I've used the factory 8.8 hard line twice. You could shorten the left side of the hard line a touch. Kind of a tight bend on the rubber line, but fine to run as is.

I will probably do that tomorrow I got new hardline and I gotta work in the ebrake cables too

I also got a brand new ford tube vent if I can find the dang thing Haha

I was in a similar spot with mine. I passed on all the factory ford stuff. I used a fresh A body rear brake line and a pair of inverted flair- an3 adapters. The entire rig cost me about $125

Man I sure know how to put lipstick on a pig. I may be partial because its my work. But damn that looks good. Haha

Coming together nicely. Are you painting engine bay the original body color?

I'm painting it the body color yes. But it's not the original color I'm going with k5 burnt orange. My original plan was to paint the bay before I assembled anything but I'm hung up waiting on a respirator thanks to covid. So I decided I'd go on with the process and just wrap and tape the suspension and steering components when I finally get to spray some paint. A member here is sending me one to borrow as soon as it gets here I'm gonna start putting some color in it.

I see now why you were so adamant about me welding them on before. Omg this is a pita!! I got one side done. Trying to fab the other side. The factory ones wouldnt work I couldnt find a place for them where they would fit right. So I just made my own I used a piece of that segmented flat stock and cut it and bent it to size then welded a stud on the inside. It works good and looks good but it's a pain trying to weld in such close quarters. And to beat that my helmet suddenly stopped working. It works fine out in broad daylight but when I'm under the car in the shadows it wont dim. Idk why I have welded at night with this helmet and never had trouble with it. Here is the one side. I got the hose on it now I have to take a pic of that later

I know I'm gonna get alot of flack for this but frankly I dont care. This is something iv wanted for 20 years and never could afford them and now I can so I did it. The coolest mod of the 80s and 90s....AIR SHOCKS!!
I got them installed today and all the air lines hooked up. I did then on individual lines and mounted the air stems in the trunk on the according side. I gonna get something to hold them down.

It's your ride. Roll it how you like it. Just keep an eye on your upper shock mounts, you'll be fine.
I always figured it was meant to be since they give you those spiffy little mounting holes for the valve stems.:poke:

Yea I dont plan on riding around at 150 psi or anything lol I figured 20 to 50 should give it a nice look and ride. I'm most definitely gonna have to replace those leafs eventually I sat it down today and they flatten out immediately lol I will get some Espo when I can afford them I hate to do all that work again but I cant afford them now and I wont to keep the progress going

Looks great. You have made so much progress. I’m excited for you! Keep it up!!
Yea I have done a ton of work its keeping me busy to say the least. Lol these guys that do these frame off restorations make this crap look so easy. It's a **** ton of work

Yea I should have listened haha. I started to do it but I knew the about of effort it was gonna take putting the rear back in and I could forsee me ripping the lines out out tearing a hose in the process if pulling and tugging do decided to wait Haha. It worked out tho. They are done.

Today's progress report!
I got the rearend completely finished got all my brake lines in the rear mounted, shocks installed (as seen above) got the front shocks in. Got the dash pad mounted and screwed on. And started cutting in my column to remove the column shift hole I got it all ground down I still have to patch the hole and smooth it out some it's kinda wavy lol. Ran into a issues tho. I'm not gonna make my goal of having it on the ground by Monday. I was looking at my tires and they are severely dry rotted they ain't gonna hold air. So I guess I'm gonna save up and buy four new tires I found some of the copper cobras for like 387 for all four it will take me a couple weeks to save up for them tho.
