That style Chevelle can be set up to hook in a sandbox, if the owner knows what to do. It's a poor mans 4 link.
I had the same type car except a 71, in the 80's. Had 12.50 mccreary sprint car tires out back, 4.10, 4K conveter, crane big solid or roller, rect ports, dom or 850, and some juuice. The car would pull the tires on the street. The moose juice and pump to spray the street down helped too! It ran 10.70's with the column shifter. Yee Haw.
Contrary to popular belief, Chevies can run hard. I used to turn mine 7500-8000 on occasion and never blew one up. BBC's do like to eat flat tappet cams!
