I had to file complaints with the state insurance board to light a fire under my insurance company that was going on two months after my accident without settling on my car... Coincidentally I picked up the check for the repairs that next week... The adjuster made a snide comment about me registering complaints against them when I picked up the check, but that is his problem for his company screwing up...

I just sent them the bill for the rental car on Tuesday and haven't gotten reimbursed yet..

Sometimes you have to make complaints to the proper authorities to get things moving... Shame on them if they are hiding or covering up something, it will come out when they investigate after you make the complaint...

To the OP. I made a call. Has insurance played any part in this meaning you received a settlement for loss of your property?

It's just a car. Not a person. They made millions of them. Go buy another one. Get over it.

Absolutely Rob..... I had a vehicle stolen I put a bunch of money into.... Found it on my own. Had a ATV stolen for that matter..... It's not really about the car at one point but more about having something taken from you that is yours and you worked for it. Very frustrating but certainly not life ending.....

Too some people it is not just a car. Their part of the family, just as ur pet is. I cried when I sold a few of mine. I know I know pull up my big girl pannies. Waa waa. Kim
 
If it was me, I would not give up no matter if it was 2 years or 2 decades, especially if I ended up getting the car back, or better yet, made those involved suffer in the slammer for as long as possible!
 
I wouldn’t be trying to hurt the guy that purchased the car. There already going to be hurting when they find out and pissed. Although at themselves for Situation. I can’t see them being mad at the actual owner. Just the scum bags that were dishonest. I would like to know what they purchased the car for.
 
If he wants this car he can have it.
