Hey everyone, brought home my first classic Mopar this past Friday! It is a running driving project that I’m looking to get more road worthy for the summer.

Car is pretty basic 318/904 7 1/4 rear car. Surprisingly came with a lot of good trim and some spare parts that I may look to post here before too long.

Biggest thing it needs right now is an entire front end rebuild kit and upper control arms. The issue I’ve found searching is none of these kits and websites supply any kind of replacement hardware or fasteners. Does anyone have a good resource where I can locate this stuff? Also need a fan shroud, brake light switch, and a trans gasket. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Like the fish! Welcome aboard, your questions will be answered shortly by the next available expert. :)

Beautiful. Your first Mopar and it is a 67 Barracuda Fastback. I have had my 69 Fastback for about 35 years. I love mine, and I'm sure you'll love yours. Welcome from your neighbor to the south.

Once you get the car home and situated to where you can work on it, set up a white board and make a list of parts and pieces that that you need. Post a "Wanted" ad on the site and see what shows up. See if there are any other A body owners in your area and see if they meet up for local cruises or car shows. Discuss your wants and needs with them, there is no telling what might be lurking a block or two away from you. Welcome from Texas!

Welcome aboard from another fb fish owner.
67 or 68? I see 68 fender and 68 ws trim.
Post in the classifieds for parts wanted/ needed. This is by far the best place for advise. Don't be shy on questions, it could save you LOTS of both $$ and frustration.

those are getting real hard to find, good score.

Hopefully the previous owner was more interested in seeing it live on, going to a person that will do it justice.

Thanks

Best advice I can think of is to keep it together as much as possible don't just start tearing things apart with a great grandiose plan. It's a good way to lose parts and forget exactly what goes where. Also take lots of pictures for reassembly. And if you can keep it running while you do a lot of the work all the better, there's nothing like a cruise to re-inspire you . sometimesit's not possible but in my opinion of running car is more fun to work on than one that sits in a pile of parts for years.

I would definitely say that was the goal of the previous owner! My dad helped me with getting the car that day and the owner is about my dad’s age. Spent a good 2 hours talking cars instead of getting the loaded up. Good day for sure

Wow! The best of the best. 1968 Fastback V8 Barracuda. No need for an entire front end rebuild kit and upper control arms. "The issue I’ve found searching is none of these kits and websites supply any kind of replacement hardware or fasteners." Use all original stuff. The rest is standard stuff that is readily available.

Welcome from California.

Your driveline is identical to what came in mine. I changed the cam to a Lunati 10200701 and intake to edelbrock performer and a 4bbl holley and destroyed my 7 1/4 within six months. A S60 from Cass at Doctordiff.com was only about $300 more than an 8 3/4.
