Well I guess I will post a little bout my car now, being I have been on here for a little while. I got the car on a trade for some C-body parts that I had and could not sell. The guy wanted $500 with no title and completely gutted. And I mean completely, he even cut out the console brackets. I traded the parts even. I haven't made much progress in the looks department but I have got some stuff done. I bought a 74 Valiant parts car and swapped the k-member and drive train out of it, but I couldn't use the brakes. The PO had taken them for a 64? Dart Convertible that he was working on. I found a set of LBP disc's and a 68 Satellite 8 3/4 rear all for $150 that I swapped in. But that is about it other tham cutting out the trunk floor I haven't done much else. Here are a few pics. The first 2 are from the craigslist ad.

You GO guy ! Best of luck with the latest. Ah.....wrong forum, but,....How's Lilly doing ?

Here are few more after I got it home. If you notice the steering column is in great shape along with the non-existant seats and carpet. If you look real close you can see where the console brackets went.

THX, Titan was asking.....now.....back to car stuff and in case it wasn't mentioned before: Thank you for your service ! So...What will be under the hood when it comes off the assembly line ?

Right now I have swapped out the 318/904 from my Valiant parts car. I can start it with starter fluid but I don't have fuel lines ran yet. But I am looking for a good 360 core to build.

Ok I am a little more awake, so here are few details about the car itself. As far as options go I guess it had a couple. It had bucket seats, console, power drum brakes, power steering, a/c, fender mounted turn signals, and the powerful 225 /6. My plans for the build are to build it as close to original as possible. At least the body and interior will be stock appearing, I am gonna change the color which was GF3 and a slanty won't be goin back in. I have already put LBP disc's in the front and an 8 3/4 from a 68 Satellite. But there won't be a stereo other than the AM that is is there now (I have an FM converter). With going back stock I think it will cost me more to build since some parts aren't repop such as taillights and the console so tracking them down and having the cash at the same time might be a challenge. Here are few pics of the car today. You can also see some seats in the pics. The back seat is out of my 4 door Valiant and I have no place to store it and the fronts are a few multi colored sets I have picked up off craigslist.

Wow!! What a great deal:cheers: and project :-D It looks like you are enjoying your time.
What year is your Duster, I looked on this thread ,But did not see it, But that don't mean it's not there :read2: Great job and looks like you are moving right along

Man you've made some good progess on her and the plan you have sounds great.
If you don't have a title can you still register it and drive it on the road, or is there a way around it?

Keep the pics coming.

Looks like a good starting point to me and the price is right. She will need some work but over all don't look to bad. It does suck that some parts are missing but over all not to shabby. Good luck with her.

I didn'r realize that the duster came with the blinker lights on top of the front fenders..only the demon.

Can you buy these oem or repro..I have never come across them used...

There is a set from time to time in the for sale section. If you look on ebay you can find NOS occassionally. I have never checked to see if they are available repop.

Ok no pics yet but I will post them in the morning. But I got my column built tonight:cheers:. I have been working on it over the past week cleaning and painting stuff. What I had to start with was a nasty floor shift column from a junkyard car that was upside down. I just happened to look through the window and see it laying inside the roof, with that said it had been wet a couple thousand times and had seen better days. But it was free so I took it home. It has been in my garage for a couple months and I was moving all my parts to a storage building since someone stole some of my parts (another story). And I decided that I would try to do the whole column to floor shift swap. I also had a really nice column shift from my Valiant. I took everything apart and cleaned and painted and the rest is history. I will post pics of it in the morning.

Ok here are the pics from the column build. I have more if someone wants to see something in particular. The second pic of the collars they are still wet and I know, I know, the column tube was only painted on the top 2/3 and the bottom was unpainted. But I wanted some protection from rust so I painted the bottom silver. I also painted the shifter tube and cut off the shifter tab. I just wanted it to be protected and last another few decades.

Ok I started stripping the paint from the drivers side quarter so I can start to make a lower patch. I gave up on the thought of buying patches since I am broke. I still have the roof panel from my Valiant parts car so I will be using it to make my patches. I also got the rear bumper off and it is fairly clean I just have a couple of small patches to make. Also my car has been painted only once, crappy gun metal grey. It was very thin and the green was showing through. There were a few small spots of filler that if they would have primed and blocked the car good they wouldn't have needed it at all. Also I through in a little sunset for ya. I am gonna try to stay below that bottom body line if I can.

man I better get to drive my engine in your car
looking good on progress man

RJ, If I can ever get it done I will definitely bring it to ya so you can drive it.

69bronzeT5, I used Dupli Color Bumper Coat. I wasn't sure what it was supposed to look like since it was all dirty and the paint had come off the collars. It went on surprisingly smooth.

RJ is the fella I got the Valiant parts car from.
