That is a sharp looking Dart Gecko--in the past I wasn't much of a fan for yellow, but it's definitely growing on me...I think A bodies are some of the few cars on the roster that can get away with such a vibrant hue.
 
Thanks .. yeah, I really like this shade of yellow.. it's so obnoxious it's cool ... nothing else like it out there.. and you won't see many '71 Swingers in this color, for sure.
 
Had to replace a front strut rod which delayed the suspension rebuild by a week while I sourced one and had it shipped to the shop ... then it turned out that one was bent (no fault of the seller, I am 100% confident it was an honest mistake, and he sent a replacement to me immediately after I contacted him about the first one).. So - as soon as the suspension is done - they just need to install the aftermarket front seat belts and do a vacuum/wash of the car, and I should have it back.... might be able to drive it before the rain starts here in CA ... I need to call my insurance company and find out what kind of policy they may have for classic car/stated value insurance...
 
Front suspension is done and aligned .. seat belts were going in yesterday ...should be done by the end of this week!!

Ran into a hiccup when I went to get it on Thursday... the alternator was not charging the battery.. so it's still there.. they sent the alternator out to get rebuilt, as the internal voltage regulator wasn't working properly.. so they should have the alternator back Monday morning, and installed by early afternoon ready for me to pick it up... I'll have my Go Pro with me to get footage of the first EVER drive in this car!!! It's killing me that the guys at the shop have driven it further than I've ever driven it in the 10 years I've had it!!!
 
I have been watching your build since the beginning, it looks great and has been a long time coming.
My first car was a 70 Dart it wasn't GY3 but it was yellow and your car makes me want mine back more than ever problem is i have no idea where it is or whatever became of it.

Thanks man... it has been a LOOOOONG time coming . .. over 10 years. Very thankful for the people who have helped me along the way, whether from this site or another Mopar forum .. not to mention an incredibly supportive and encouraging wife, as well as a photography side business that has helped me pay to get it finished this year. I am so damned nervous to drive this car, it's not even funny!!! There have been a few guys whose A-Bodies kept me motivated over the years to get mine done.. GMachineDartGT and ABodyJoe are a couple of them .. and this one right here was one I saw a LOOooong time ago when I first started on mine, and it has kept me going several times..

Super nice! I have never owned a car I didn't drive the piss out of. Leave nothing on the table in life, enjoy it today as tomorrow is uncertain!

Thanks guys! I'm pretty happy with how she's coming along :) even at only 10mpg, I still love driving the 50+ mile round trip to/from work once or twice a week :)
