My hiding place!

Thanx Tom. Your welcome anytime. What's an "interlooper"?! :D

Now you're getting me to admit it.
An interlooper is someone who sleazes right in so quickly, you don't even notice it happening. :evil4:
(At least that's what my therapist says.) :D

Wow! Absolutely beautiful shop! That's a very well thought out bench area with plenty of power and light too.

Do you plan on coating the plywood sheeting with anything to prevent it from drying out or is that not an issue at your location?

Don't foget the dog door, lol. With a heated floor, heat loss probably wouldn't be as much of an issue as it would be with forced air heat. I'd love to have a heated floor, but when I bought my place, the garage was already up and slab poured so it's out of the question. BTW, you must have one heck of a boiler in the house.... :)

Well that's better than a repoolretni, those buggers sleaze out before you know it!

Thanx, I was going to paint and still may, but it's not in the plan for now. Yes the boiler is 199,000btu. Big enough for all I have and then some!

Looks great! Me likey!

Thanx, me too! Now just to get everything in there!

my question is, what was the porpouse of the concrete pump truck? was it so the concrete fell down on the heating system, to reduce it from moving sideways, as if you poured right out of the truck?

That's correct. With the pex pipe and styrofoam you can't lay boards across for wheelbarrows. The piping is only held down by grooves cut in the foam and the little plastic clips over it stuck into the foam. It certainly could be done with extensions on the truck, but it would require more attention and you know how today's workforce is! For me it was worth knowing I had one less thing to be concerned about. :D

Well if anything tested my "carpentry" skills, LOL, it was this. Definitely a case of measure 25 times and build once. As you can see in the pics, I had to turn the boards over and re-do my lines. :eek:ops: At least it was only once. But the end result was acceptable, to my standards anyway! Now just the hand rails to go! :D
P.S. I haven't worked in construction for over twenty years, hence the long build! Amazing what you forget.

Nice shop! I've done a few floor heat systems about 11 years ago at my old job,and wouldn't hesitate to put it in my future shop.

Nice!! I sooooo want my next hangar/shop to have that heated floor. Would make working in it over the winter much more bearable. I am surprised that you did not insulate the roof though. Maybe you did and I didn't see it.

Thanx, oh yeah the roof is insulated. Of course this winter, or lack there of, didn't justify it! :D

That is badass looking. You did a fantastic job on this. Now I am really wanting something like this... Talking the wife into it will be a tough sell :p Thanks for sharing. This gives me a few ideas of how I want to build mine.

Thank you very much. The trick is if she even gives in a little, start ordering material! That's what I did. :D

Beautiful shop! And very well thought out. I'm sooooo jealous.
Sure makes my 2-car garage look puny, but that's all my property here in SoCal will hold.
Years ago, a couple of years ago after my ex and I bought the house I'm still in, we were offered what was left of my stepfather's parents house and property (used to be an orange ranch) just a couple of blocks away. .7 acre with older 3 bedroom/1 bath house with full basement, 2-car garage, existing separate shop building, office building, and storage buildings. Also orange, lemon, avocado, persimmon trees and more than enough room for a huge vegetable garden. She didn't want it. You ought to see what the people that bought it have done with it.

Thanx Bud. Sometimes the Girls just can't see too far into the future can they?

you are building my dream home! Nice work

Thanx, I have considered a couch and pool table!

Smokin' staircase, great skills!

Have thought about those factory style electric winches that slide on a I-beam that would run right through the peak to the 2nd floor gate?

Outstanding! Keep the updates coming
Thank you Sir! Much appreciated.

Thanx, no hadn't really thought about winching anything up there! May have to look into that! :-k

what? no beer fridge!!
Oh yeah, if you look close, the beer fridge is on the bench by the tool box! It was one of the first things to be plugged in when the power got turned on! :D Man can't work without refreshment!

Nice, nice shop your set now. Not much reason to go in the house with a garage like that, odd shower and a bit of food!! You have any ballpark figure what it would cost me to build a shop like this assuming I did around the same amount of work as you did yourself?

Haha! Thats actually how I get everything I want. I mention things to her until she slightly gives then its all fair game.
