Used to listen to those hauling freight in the US. way better than trying to find a radio station every 100 miles or so

i listen to books up tape in the winter when im plowing, it breaks up the monotony of back and forth, back and forth
i just finished an 18 hour version of Dracula, and started Beowulf

when im done with that one, chances are ill switch back to some stephen king

When I was hauling freight I would drive all night, park just before the sun came up and sleep all day. Way less of everything. Those books on tape kept me alert. The library in town had a major collection of them. Didn’t matter the story or author. I’d take out 5/6 at a time, never got through the libraries entire collection but put a good dent in it.
