Ford. Yeah, I know it's a dirty word around here, but I couldn't pass it up. My brother had it and agreed to trade me for my 99 Mustang that he will drive for a while and probably sell when the weather gets warmer.

It's a 1971 Maverick with less than 40,000 miles (I think). It currently has a 6cyl in it, but he is giving me a rebuilt 302 and a C4 along with it. The driver's side fender will need to be painted as it had some front end damage. My brother got it from CoPart and had my dad fix it last year. I trust his work as he's been doing it for probably close to 40 years now. The interior is even nicer than the exterior...not a spot of rust anywhere as I think it came from Georgia.

Enough words...here is the good stuff:

I'm not a Ford fan but there's nothing wrong with a V-8 Maverick. Looks like a nice car and a fun ride. toolman

Nothing wrong with a Maverick with a V-8 in it. I think they're pretty cool cars.

Yeah, I think Mavericks must run in the blood. My dad has owned a '71 for at least 20 years that my brother has been driving for most of that time. After like 18 seasons on the engine (351C) it finally punched a hole in the block last year. They are putting together another Cleveland, but this time they are going to stroke it...I think a 408, but maybe larger.

The interesting thing about this car is that it is an original Grabber and when my dad bought it back in the mid-80's...it had a 440 Mopar in it :)

I've always disliked Maverics, but I have to admit that they look better as they (or as I) get older. Compared to new cars, they are beauty queens.

Nice Maverick....like the yellow..I've got a Blue Oval in the garage keeping the Dart company..nothing wrong with that!

Our other rides are an 04 Ford Escape and an 04 Ranger. I must admit, I AM a Ford fan. NO bailout money and they are STILL makin a profit. Love the Mavericks, btw.

Ditto. I know when I see the one around here, ya gotta be ready for a race cause this guy did his homework and made that car a nasty street warrior.

Hey cool!.....I'm no giant Ford fan, but there are some Fords I really like. Man, tell me that Maverick isn't some kinda crazy transformation!! Most you see are higher in the front than the back, have tiny wheels and a 6 cylinder. That baby's clean too!! I guess you could say Darts suffer the same dilemma.....most are 6 cylinders with tiny wheels and a goofy stance from the factory. Easy to change that tho'.....

Here's a Ford I just picked up last month......I haven't owned a Ford since high school!!!.....which was 32 years ago!! I had a '64 Falcon with a V-8 and a stick when I was 17 and I'd been wanting to get another one lately. But this Ranchero was a smokin' deal and has a 289 HIPO engine (factory solid lifters/hot cam, dual point distributor, special big main caps, special heads and a huge 715 Holley) and a Toploader 4-speed/Hurst shifter, 9" posi rear end with 3.25 gears. The previous owner died and his son had it in his garage for the past 10 years just sitting. I got a pretty decent deal on it because it had 4 rotten flat tires and didn't run. I was haulin' *** in it in a week's time. :) It only weighs 2875 lbs! (BTW, it isn't higher in front, it's just all the parts loading down the rear)

I like the Maverick but didnt many years ago. I had a clean Pinto a few years ago. Bought it for 300 drove it for 6 months and sold it for 800. Not bad at all no matter what the emblem was on it.
