Congratulations!
asshole friend checking in, i give the slant 8 months.
you can bet the over or the under, we have action at pahrump, pechanga and macau look for the key word: turbomike's fantabulous slant six.
killer score mike! i'm green with envy.
this is all very true. You’re really giving Mike far too much credit. I gave it 2 weeks before the slant was out. That’s accounting for his other projects and removing LED lights/sweet billet window cranks.
I’ll take the under for $100asshole friend checking in, i give the slant 8 months.

Thank god he gave me a bag full of all the original stuff. I’ll post a pic later on when I change them.also, billet window cranks? i... i don't know how to feel about this....
She’s FAR more interested in me finishing the falcon which has been renamed “her car”.dr. the mrs. turbo mike
Not really. There was only 1 truck within 200 miles of me for sale that I considered and it had a Mexico title and a 440 in it. This one was outside Phoenix and was only one of a few that close. There are much more up in the north west but they’re mostly rust buckets.Nice Truck. I imagine in So. Cal it's easier to find a clean example. I like the D-trucks as well. Still got the '80 long bed 5.9, and the '82 Short bed /6.
what i'm hearing is that i should finish up the BMW and cruise by in that... it may be the only hope of you keeping the falcon! ;DShe’s FAR more interested in me finishing the falcon which has been renamed “her car”.
i'll echo what mike said, there's plenty of trucks around here but a lot suffer that same tin worm fate or because they didn't rust to **** straight away they've been beaten to death as work trucks for the last 40+ years.Nice Truck. yeah they're getting harder to find, especially in decent condition. and they're getting way, way up in price for good examples.Shortwides are that hard to find?
Damn, I've passed on five or six in the last couple years. I gotta start flipping trucks now.
Congrats on a very clean truck!
There are lots of them that are 76-93 but in this ridiculous state we can’t do anything with them. I had to have a 75 or older for no smog check and that narrowed the search.Shortwides are that hard to find?

At one time I found reproductions.I’ve noticed that. And this truck only has one on the driver side.
Sweet truck. And thanks for the links.
There is a mint, original extended cab long bed D200 not far from me in Tustin. I almost came home with it.Very cool! I’m more of a W fan myself. I have 2 1974 W200’s. I really want an extended cab long bed version.

NICE SCORE. I am truly happy for you. I remember how long I looked for the 69 340 Barracuda I have had for about 33 years. No internet back then. You've got a clean slate! I kind of like the idea of keeping it stock. I mean, how many trucks like that have you seen at a Mopar car show with a 225 three on the tree. That being said, I would 100% support you making it the truck you would have special ordered back in the day. Could you please tell me what Fleet Side means. Does that mean a bare bones truck? It really looks good in white.After a few years of wanting and searching for a very specific (and as it turned out hard to find) dodge d100, I found what I was after. My “must haves” I was not willing to negotiate on and I passed on many, many trucks because they were missing one or two important things to me. The list is short, but it was;
1. 72’ to 75’ D100
2.short bed
3.fleet side
4. Original paint or close to it, no full respray.
5. Un-modified
That’s the whole list, I didn’t care about drivetrain or options and I was surprised how hard it was to nail one down. A few months ago I talked myself out of a good truck on marketplace that checked all the boxes because the time wasn’t right and the owner eventually took it down. Thinking it sold, I regretted my decision as soon as it wasn’t available anymore. Surprisingly that same truck came back up for sale a few days ago from the same seller and I wasn’t willing to let it slip away again so I jumped on it. Messaged him on Thursday last week and Saturday it became mine. Once again @Turbo440Dart Chris, Troy, and myself loaded up the trailer and headed out. We did a turn around trip, So Cal to Phoenix and back 735 miles in one day to bring her home.
I don’t have big plans just yet other than some cosmetic changes, I really dislike the black grille, emblems, and trim, so I’ll be stripping that all down and I’ve already thrown all the LED lighting in the trash can and replaced it with original sealed beams/bulbs. She’s a 225 slanter and a 3 speed on the column (which according to my asshole friends has no chance of staying in the truck and they’re probably right) 8-3/8 rear with 3:55s that moves it along ok. Smokes a little on start up and sounds like a solid cam that’s been misadjusted. Manual brakes and steering, radio delete bare bones truck. The suspension and brakes are excellent, it’s quiet and smooth as glass with no rattling or weird noises as you drive. It’s perfect.

I’ll likely not do much to it in the near future except clean it up, strip some paint, and fix some dents. Then lower it a bit and drive it. I’ll get a few more pics over the next few days and post em up if you guys wanna see more.
To me (I could be wrong because that’s happened once or twice) fleet side is flat sided bed. The opposite of step side.NICE SCORE. I am truly happy for you. That is definitely a concern. I want to drive the thing and not hate it, or be a nuisance to traffic. Which here is 75-80 mph. And on top of that, I have a mopar crate 360 and a 46RE sitting here built and ready to drop.Nice score! I had a 78 D100 SL6 3 on the tree about 15 or so years ago. It was very difficult to keep up with traffic and the slow shifting a 3 on the tree requires made it even more difficult. I have a feeling you'll be swapping it out sooner than later down in socal.
