Nearing completion on the Dart, took it out for a spin today

And No, its not a GTS. Started out as a /6 270 model. I removed the side trim and filled the holes, added a new repro buldge hood and the bb stripe after I finished my paint job. Doesn't have any GTS badges on it, not trying to pass it off as a gts. Just like the look.

Also swapped out the /6 for a 318,, swapped out the 7-1/4 for an 8-3/4, ditched the 9" drum brakes for disks, swapped bench seat for late model buckets, converted column shift to floor shift, etc.etc.

may not be an real original GTS ....but its REAL awesome

i am doing the same thing with mine and mine was also a /6 270 ....might as well build what you want if you plan to keep it and enjoy it for years to come :toothy7:

Thats my thinking exactly Rani, its taken me years to build this car up the way I want it. Now i'm just going to keep it till i'm too old to drive..lol And enjoy it as much as possible.
 
That is one wicked cool Dart you have there! You should be VERY proud of the way it turned out.
 
If you got headers they can add some heat unles the floor is really well insulated..
 
That is funny- my 68 is also a 270/ 6 cyl car that is a GTS tribute with no GTS badges and will remain that way.

Yes, but after changing out the valve seals, adding the marvel mystery oil, and taking it for a couple of long drives, it seems to be fine now. No sign of smoke. I think it was partly the seals and partly just gunked up from sitting so long.
 
I'm not sure why everyone is saying that car looks so nice...

oh wait, yeah I am- 'cause that car looks so nice!

Like others have said, I also love the white with blue- beautiful combo. Love the wheels and the stance too- great job.
 
Thanks everyone for all the compliments. Its good to hear that everyone loves the white with blue stripe. I was just trying to match it to the interior, and get a little color on the outside of the car.
