I just picked up a nice 340 block a while back, and want to make 500-600 HP on pump gas. Please help me out with combos on this stroker build???Heads,crank,cam,ect......

You will be stroking it if you want pump gas and 500-600hp. You will also be putting a cage and all required safety equipment in it if you plan on running at a track.

Low side...

There are some tweeks that can be made to that build and get over 500. That engine with a 950hp and electric water pump drive made right at 500 on his dyno.

High side you'll need to spend some money on cylinder heads and a big cam, compression to get 600hp

11:1
Light bobweight set up
260-270 at .050 cam .650 lift roller or solid
Victor intake
950-1050 carb
Heads that flow in the 300+ range
1 3/4" or larger headers

Thanks for the info crackedback, I checked out the link you posted very nice but my whole goal is to be over 500hp. Definately different heads would get me there.

Depends on how steetable you want it. Those heads are capable of getting in the 530-550 range. More than that, look elsewhere and open up your wallet.

Here's a something will a little more umphhh. Going to be a car craft article soon.

Figure out an HP goal and build to the goal. What you need for 500 is very different from 600hp and the cost go up.

Talk with Brian with an HP goal and he can build something to get you what you want.

Here is what I run, it makes somewhere in the low to mid 500 hp range:

360 block, 410 ci, pump gas, 10.8:1 compression
Eagle 4.00 steel crank, Scat I-beams, Diamond pistons, total seal rings (file fit),
ARP main/head studs, Edelbrock heads stage II ported by Ryan J @ Shadydell,
Small solid roller 248/254 duration w/ .576/.582 lift, Victor intake, Proform 750 dp,
4.10 gears, spool, 35 spline axles, pinion snubber, drag shocks front and rear
727, manual valve body, 8” PTC converter, 28x11.5 Hoosier QTP
3250 lbs, street trim and with 3 inch Flowmasters.

I would suggest a bigger cam than what I'm using, something in the 260° range with .600+ lift. That would get you solidly into the mid to upper 500hp range (even on pump gas).
