one more pic regarding alignment
For a '67 and newer I would agree. For a '66 and older, there might not be enough clearance back by the firewall to run that setup. These pictures should be a sticky to show people the correct way to have the kickdown rigged. It's dead right. Looks good!
Thus why they used the three piece setup. Good luck findin THAT! lolFor a '67 and newer I would agree. For a '66 and older, there might not be enough clearance back by the firewall to run that setup.
Yeah, I was sayin how hard that is to find now. That stuff used to be easy to find. I like it because it's so compact it fits almost anywhere. Those pictures are of a three piece kickdown...
That's what I had on my 64 Valiant. It worked very well. There are few substitutes for the factory parts there that work as well. The early cars have a multi-link setup too, it just fits tighter against the back of the engine.
Nice and square, killer Alignment! Hard to beat factory! Man, the stuff I trashed over the years. I SHOULD have Piles and Miles of stuff like thatone more pic regarding alignment

ok let me go out there today and look again way someone setup the kickdown i think there may be two rods. So my question is how do i get a setup that works. do they make a kit or i got to find an org. setup. the bracket for the kickdown is there and hooked up its from there to carb that the issues. i'll get in there and take some more pics. frustrating not know what i'm trying to findThese pictures should be a sticky to show people the correct way to have the kickdown rigged. hey i am thinking that kickdown rod is correct where it is located. i found this from an original post taken from the build manual and you see in the pic that's not a keyed slider on the end to linkage its a rod like i have. did they change after 65? not saying anyone is wrong just stating what i found and trying to see what is right. help..OP - Is that really a 4 barrel carb? The pics from the side show a base that doesn't seem large enough front to back... Never mind it's just the shadow of the weird throttle clamp arrangement.
NO!!! I think that the arm that you attached to the carb is actually the one that goes from the bracket to the bell crank at the transmission. The correct arm should have a long slot where it connects to the carb. These photos are from my 1970 Dart 318 with an Edelbrock Performer manifold and an Edelbrock AFB. I think you can see the rod that you have connected to the carb attached to the firewall end of the throttle bracket in the second photo. The throttle bracket shown is the 340/360 bracket and attaches under the last 2 intake bolts on the right in the pictures

Your photo is correct for a '64-6 model (2bbl in this case). The 4bbl is very similar, except the upper bell crank and forward rod is different, along with the accelerator cable bracket (which is a separate piece '64-6). Looks like you have an aftermarket intake and carb. Most times you need to do some modification to make the stock stuff work. Now, using the '67-up setup, you might be able to use it if you have enough clearance to do so. There again, you may have to made some mods to make it work correctly. Some intakes and carbs have different bosses and connection points.hey i am thinking that kickdown rod is correct where it is located. i found this from an original post taken from the build manual and you see in the pic that's not a keyed slider on the end to linkage its a rod like i have. did they change after 65? not saying anyone is wrong just stating what i found and trying to see what is right. help..

did some searching and looks like i found an original setup, bracket and cable, is this correct?
That's not the correct post for a '65 model carb/kickdown linkage. The correct one has a ball on the outboard section for the kickdown rod, and a pin for the cable on the inboard section.ok got # 26 looking for a part#, no link, sorry for being pain just trying to get it right
