Need help pulling valve body

Hi, pulling the valve body on my 727 and ran into a problem. I got it out but it is still hanging by a rod (park?) i thought it was just supposed to come out but i keep wiggling it and nothing happens. it is an 86-87 tranny. Any ideas on how this comes out? thanks, Eric

Normally they just pop right out. You might try rotating the driveshaft a little while pulling on the parking rod.

look for where that rod connects to the valve body.. there should be a little clip holding it on..

haha, wow. quick resposes that time. no drive shaft, out of the car. ill try turning the shaft. anyways, thanks for your help guys, i'll try that and see what happens.

if you decide to pull the clip watch you don't lose it.. that thing is small and will fly...lol

pull toward the front of the bell housing lightly it should just pop out. it sounds like you are hung up on the park paul. good luck

Look out for that little steel ball in the shifter rooster. Mine popped out and had to chase it down the driveway....
