A FABO member in King, North Carolina, has a 273 block I'd like to buy. He's in zip code 27021. My zip in Lake Havasu City, AZ, is 86404. I'm not sure what the empty block weighs, but I'm sure it's too heavy for FedEx or UPS. I'm afraid shipping by truck may prohibitavely expensive. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get it here? If someone is coming this way from there and has room I'd be happy pay them a reasonable amount for transporting it.

Thanks.

You can try Greyhound.

If the sender and you have a Forward Air terminal, that's likely going to be the least expensive. The sender will need to pallets the motor and you the recipient will need to pick it up. The sender will need to pre-pay it. I had a 340 short block shipped from the LA area to the terminal closest to me (about 1 1/2 hours away) and the cost was $195. I also had a 340 long block shipped from the Chicago IL area and that was also $195. My son shipped a complete long block Honda motor from here to Little Rock AR and IIRC the shipping was about $180. Hope this helps.

I sent a crate 4' x 5' x 4' high 750lbs from Ohio to Ga. for $85 using fastenal
third party logistics

3rd vote for Fastenal. I bought a bare 360 block on here 2 years ago. The seller shipped it on a pallet (175 lbs.) from Ohio to Long Island, cost $100.
