I have 3 fender tag codes on a '68 Dart I can't decode. Any help would be appreciated.

2nd row (ABC...)
F: 4

3rd row (Paint/Trim/Moulding)
8: 9
U: U

This was a customer ordered vehicle built '429' if it matters.

Please let me know if you need any other information. Thank you.

F = White Hat Special Package B
fender mount turn signals, wheel covers, Wheel opening moldings, Frt & Rr Bumper Guards, LH remote Mirror, Rocker Moldings

9 = Wide Sill (rocker) Moldings

U Upper Door Paint (interior top area) Light Blue Metallic

Thanks for the help 1WildRT. They go along with the other codes I have been able to decipher.

I have; 2nd row F:1 on my 68 Dart 270, I thought it signified the White Hat Special.
3rd row 1:4, I think it is for sill molding.
3rd row 8:9, I think it is for side molding delete.
Do you have better info on these?
Thanks 1WildRT.

You may want to take out the left screw to see if there are some hidden under the other tag

I was thinking the same thing. I probably looked when I got the car in 2015. I'm going to check after work tonite.
Commonly under the a in the top row is a 6 denoting a console. This would probably be accompanied by a 4 under the b indicating bucket seats. Since there's no 4, there's probably no 6. I'm curious to see what might be there.
It's interesting to see the Spring Special options with no radio (I think).

F = White hat Special package A = Fender Mount Turn Signals, Wheel Covers, Wheel Opening Moldings, Frt & Rr Bumper Guards, LH Remote Mirror, Sill Moldings & Vinyl Top..... Sounds an awful lot like Pkg B.....

4 = Narrow Sill Molding

The book I have lists three possibilities for your 9 your would need a broadcast sheet to be 100% certain
first option is 529 which we can eliminate, it's Wide Sill Moldings
second option is 539 is moldings belt line... IE tops of the doors..
Third is 549 moldings bright garnish
I don't see any codes that indicate a molding delete which makes sense since moldings are optional it simply wouldn't be coded..

There is nothing hidden under the other tag.
White Hat Special package A describes my car exactly.
I found two build sheets in my car, one is somewhere in the house.
I'll see if I can find it.

Nice on the build sheets. Good to know about the extra tag.
