Please see pictures from my installer. Apparently different from OEM.

Does anyone know what year style?
1973 Dodge Dart Sport 340 with 727 trans to 360

Thanks,
Eric

The ones on the upper right is what you should need. They are called spool mounts for 73-6 k frames and transmissions. If you have some earlier leftovers I'll take them and I'm local.

Spool mount for the trans as well. Make sure you get the 340/360 spool mounts which have the different engine side flange widths from side to side. 1973 and newer.

Same. They used them on A,B and C bodies. post a pic of the mounts on your frame before ordering. That trans mount is 72-earlier. The one in your car is the correct 73-6

Found them. 1975-1976 A-body listed the correct ones and 1973-74 had the '72 and earlier listed on the website.

Ordered the correct ones. Engine and trans out. Front trans seal leak being fixed and new rebuilt 360 going in very soon. This 14 week dilemma is making progress after the piston rings went south.

Thanks everyone for your help!
Eric

You would have been better off swapping out that JUNK 73 K member for the earlier one. Spool mounts are GARBAGE. I have them be cause I went against my gut and didn't change it out. When the engine comes out again, I'm sell that spool mount turd.

The earlier mount can use a solid mount. The spool junker can't. I have actually drawn up a solid mount for the spool, but making it is not worth the investment. Spool mounts are JUNK.

Good to know for the future. Between the engine and front end rebuild there is a lot of money into this car that has been driven 300 miles and not really enjoyed yet after purchased a year ago.

I would like to keep as much of it as 1973 factory as I can.

While not cheap, aftermarket spool engine mounts with the polyurethane inserts are a good option to any solid mounts. They are much more durable and harder/stiffer than OEM rubber, but still absorb much of the vibrations you would get with solids. The spool versions can't pull apart like the older mounts unless you spend extra money anyway for the special ones. They make poly inserts for the trans mount as well. Schumacher and Mancini have them.

It's cheaper, but buying the engine spool mount inserts and cutting out the OEM rubber isn't worth the trouble IMO.

The solids won't pull apart either. I use the urethane spool mounts but I detest them. The earlier type OD mount is fool proof and you can use a solid mount. The car will handle better and they never wear out.

Th spool mount is WORTHLESS and unless you are losing sleep over a numbers matching deal, I'd sell the spool mount to some Spode, or better yet trade it for the earlier flat mount and be done with it.

The reality is, it was cheaper to make and install the spool mount and that's why Chrysler switched. It's not better. Once you buy solid mounts, you NEVER have to worry about a failure.

........I've never had a problem with the spool mounts.........even in a race car running 10s or 11s........in fact my car has a best run so far of 10.37 at 129.65 mph....with a 1.451 sixty foot....kim............

Kim,

Do you run the aftermarket spool type mounts? If so, which ones?

My 360 that is going in the car has been on the Dyno at 380 hp 400 lbs of torque. I was planning on installing the OEM type.

If you are going to keep the spool type at least use the poly type. No reason to use rubber.

I still say spool mounts are JUNK and I dont care how fast you can go with them.

But, just dont use rubber. Schumacher makes the poly mounts.
