Need parts for 727 BB trans:
inspection shield,
kickdown lever,
speedometer housing o-ring.

What's the designation for a BB 727 versus a SB 727?

The kickdown linkage is missing on my car. How do I tell if it needs a kickdown linkage or not? I read somewhere it doesn't need one if it has a manual valve body -- to know if I have the manual valve body, would I need to shift the transmission manually? Is that how to tell it has a manual valve body? Thanks, all.

The "O" ring you can get at NAPA. I have the inspection/dust cover and the lever for the throttle pressure if you find you need one. If yours has been converted to a manual valve body, it won't shift automatically in drive.

With a manual valve body the trans. is in whatever forward gear you put it in. If you put the shifter in drive it'll take off in 3rd gear. If you put the shifter in 2nd gear it'll take off in 2nd gear. You have to put it in low gear for it to take off in low and it'll only shift gears up or down when you manually move the shift lever.
