need starter help

getting ready to wire my big block demon first do I have to use the starter relay I will be running a internal regulator alternator I have no power anything all I need is to run the alternator and coil with power my postive cable has two wires on it at the bottom can I go right to the starter with them and what are the other two wires that are at the top of the positve cable brown and red small wires any help would be great just wondering how the fuse box get its power thank for the help

NO!!!! If you run both wires to the starter it will crank forever. The small terminal on the starter needs power only when you want to crank the engine. The ignition switch is not meant to handle the amount of current that the starter will draw through the small terminal, hence the starter relay...
