I have a 727 trans with a manual shift body in it. The neutral safety switch was gutted and welded up to make a plug out of it. Is there a reason to modify the safety switch when you manual shift body in? thanks Jim
about the ONLY thing I can think of is if you were running the car on a road course - would it be advantageous to be able to start it in gear if you stall it somehow.. ?I got 5 cars with manual valve bodies and they all use the Neutral Safety Switch....no reason not to use it....
Even so no reason to remove and plug it. You could easily bypass it electrically. I wonder if "there's another reason," like maybe the threads were AFU in the case?
I have a manual VB and the NSS works just fine.
Thanks all for the reply's Now I feel better about running the NSS. They just gutted the NSS and brazed the end closed. I took 3 hrs to take it out, with all that braze running over the hex.just no room. This was one of those Why didn't I take it out when the trans was on the groung.
