The box shows 383-440 and the caps themselves are showing a 383 designation, so what are they?

383 or 440 caps? Because they can't be both, as they are different sizes.

The PRW 1738301 Billet steel main caps are a direct fit for the Mopar B/RB blocks. When installing new main caps you will have to have the block line bored to verify everything is square.
Caps will need to be sized to your block.

I guess you don't know a 383 has 2.625" diameter main journals and a 440 has 2.75" diameter main journal.

Thus the reason for the question above. They can't fit both, so which one do they fit?

PRW doesn't even know what they are selling, as I looked on their website and got nowhere.
