Sold the nice eddie heads i had on the forum yesterday.
I am buying a set of the newly designed Bloomer heads Vic Bloomer has done.
Purchased a non optimal( for these heads) Victor intake from a board member to try on them.
I say non optimal because the head ports are “ taller” than meat on the Victor has available.
A super Victor is the better/ perfect choice, but then i possibly run into hood clearance issues with my flat hood. The Victor will work, its what was on the power tour Duster
At some point, maybe even right off the bat, gonna try 1.6 intake rockers to get my gross lift up close to 600, to better take advantage of the new heads.
Obviously, this wont be a max effort deal, with smallish flat tappet cam, 1 5/8 headers still, and other liabilities, but should pick the car up. How much is yet to be determined.
I saw another set of these heads in action down South couple days ago on a facebook video….the results between that( super impressive) and the power tour Duster results made my decision for me. If i am gonna stick with stock type non offset head, i am gonna get the best one…..

1-5/8” might not be ideal, but they might surprise you. I ran 1-5/8 LA headers on my W2’s and went high 9’s with 340”. I have since built a set of W2 headers and will find out if it makes a difference. I went with 1-3/4” stepped to 1-7/8” header.

who knows, lol…not gonna spend a grand to find out at this point regards headers.
Just want to see what these pick my car up…and i now know i have enough head to support 9 sec passes if i ever decided to do it( very unlikely to do that again at my age)…but the potential is there.
I never upgraded to a Dana, just bought fresh nodular case Moser 8.75 centersection last summer.
So thats the other thing, keeping it in one piece till next off season, and footbraking only..i actually went about this backwards..not a first for me..i can be mighty dumb

Are the new designed heads currently available for sale?

yes. He told me 4 or 5 sets are currently at BES getting finished, then Vic gets them, hand blends the valve job and assembles them
Thinking those sets should be done at BES within couple of weeks. Not sure when next batch are getting done after these.
Guy down in Alabama last weekend went 6.08 @112 with them first time out( new tranny and vert) in his 2875-2900 ish pound AMC.
Stroker shortblock, 11.5 compression, 263@50 roller…saw a pass he made on Facebook off the footbrake, wheels way up..lol

Thanks.....I just messaged Vic on Facebook so will see if he replies. Do you have a good number for him by chance and also can you share what the cost of the heads are and how they come fitted?

I dont know the seller and this is not a for sell add. But I saw on moparts for sell section that somebody had some Headman 1-7/8 A body headers for around $500 i think. Also I look forward to see how your car runs with the new heads

unfortunately, the headmans require hacking the inner fenders

2600 bucks with valves. You supply what you want for springs etc, or tell him and he gets them. They set everything up no extra charge
Gonna copy the spring setup i have on my eddies( running same cam) will have better part of 3k in them all said and done. Ready to use

What spring pressure are you looking to run? I actually used a nice set of dual springs for an ls from pac

running 145 ish right now. They are trick flow 1.46 OD. Dwayne( PRH) specced them for me Forget how they are set up. Thats plenty of pressure, but i like a little more than less. If he sees this will probably remember the part number

What do you realistically think the 1 7/8 vs 1 5/8 are worth on a deal like that amx Rod posted? Worth a full tenth on a motor like that maybe ?

Talked to Rod this morning and got my name on the current run of heads list.......Thanks!!!

i really dont know. I have never( until now) had a small tube on such a motor.
My guess is the better the head, the more its gonna like a better header. This head, while still small, is fully 200cc, lot bigger than an eddie. So its not gonna “ lay down” as quickly on the big end as for instance what i now have.
I have been 6.78 with what i have, but only 10.77. Its definitely wheezing on the big end. A bunch. 6.78 should be much quicker in the 1/4. I have the car geared to run 1/4, so it isnt that.
The shortblock that guy has those heads on isnt trick or anything. Its 11.5 compression typical stroker. It does have a nicely done super Victor on it, but the cam isnt huge at all. 263@50. And that is the first time out with it, new everything, motor, trans, vert, everything.
That car has some huge tires on it. Has to be some ET in running much smaller meats on it and not dragging those steamrollers down the track..lol

Should have mentioned, the guy with the AMC had 1 5/8 headers on it.
He is getting some made, but they arent finished yet

Really interested to see what he picks up from them. He’s going 1 7/8th? I’ll be running 1 7/8th hedmans, 13.3 compression and a tram but I’ll likely be 3250. Hoping it will run close to the amc at a heavier weight. He’s about 2900 right ?

Yep. Car 2650, driver 280.
Car should run solid 5.90’s once sorted.
Not sure what tube size he is going to.
Cam isn't huge either. 263@50 roller, around 640 ish lift..11.5 compression, nicely done super victor
