Ahoy!
My name is Tyler, and I'm just finishing my first car build, and would love to share some of the project with y'all!
This is my newly re-minted 1968 Dodge Dart GTS. We picked this up in September of '22 after it sat in a local (near Chicago) body shop for 30 years. Over the past 2 years my father, his father and I have brought this back to life. I've gotten this on the gts registry just a not ago. She just made her first proper show recently, and will be a part of the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals in Rosemont, IL in about a month, so if you see me feel free to say hi!
I've been around '60s Mopars my whole life, both my dad and his dad have one, so I've had a ton of great guidance.
I look forward to meeting y'all.

quite a transformation! You should be proud. Clean and simple - definition of a muscle car. How about some more pics and details?

Certainly! I can talk too much about it, why not?
We heard about this at a show 2 years ago, the guy also had a friend planning to take a look and flip it. We checked it out on the way home, and surer than sunshine it was there. I had gotten a new job earlier in the year, so I didn't have the time to check it out, but thankfully my grandpa did. We bought the car before it even got properly listed.
It was originally a 340 car, but the aim has been to get this on the road first, and make it good later. So for now it's just got a small block and trans out of a '69 Cuda, but that shouldn't stick around too long. It also got a load of parts and support from a sacrifical '69 parts dart, brownish with a white painted roof attached below, that we picked up from Jim Rhinehart (I believe he's @ hemissdart). He's been a fantastic resource in getting this done, and I can't thank him enough.
The shell was rust-free and dentless when we found it, so I had a local guy paint it the brightest white we could manage, with the idea to wrap it in the future. I got a massive side-exit exhaust system with flowmaster mufflers, an electric fan, and an aluminum radiator from a local pro streeter, and had a neighborhood shop modify the exhaust to work with the small block headers.
We redid almost everything else, and have gone through more paint, dye, grease, and carb cleaner than I ever expected.
The interior's mostly done, but I'm still missing the proper console automatic shift ball; the chrome style. The previous owner refinished the seats in the early 90's when it got put away, and the car was green-on-green at the time, so the seats stayed green while the rest of the interior's black. I'm pretty sure we've dealt with every nut, bolt, and clip on this car at least twice by now, and have about 3 fasteners i consider mortal enemies.
I'm rather proud of the grill, tail finish panel, and hood louvers that we refinished.

Car looks great . Nice job. Best part is the memories you will have forever putting the car back on the road with the help of your father and grandfather. Best of luck with it.
